I don't want to get the full deluxe version but that making of dvd is very tempting. Would love to have a 3 disc version without the big book

They're coming to Istanbul AGAIN. And this time...oh. AGE LIMIT AGAIN. BUT NOPE. I actually know the owner of the freaking venue. He said he could get me in as "staff" with VIP tickets. Woah.
Lucky you... :eek

Multiple sources are saying "Anathema" is the best track on the album and one of the best they've ever done. Really can't wait to hear it!

Evidently another very positive review!

I'm interested to hear the Sigur Ros and Ulver influences that he mentions

Oh man, this could be my AOTY!

Sun Kil Moon's Benji is still the best singer/songwriter album from the past 15 years.

No it's not, but it's one of the better albums of 2014 for sure.  :tup

That's some seriously high praise. I love the talk of 'unfathomable darkness'. I wonder when we might get a single

Did Elliott Smith have an album in the past 15 years? Also, what is your AOTY so far?

Oh and I've been spinning WHBWH recently. A Simple Mistake blows me away every single time.

Not quite sure about my AOTY so far, probably the new Cloud Nothings. There's a handful (5 or maybe 6) albums I hold slightly higher than the rest, of 2014 so far.

I'm listening to it - seems legit. And it's awesome, the whole song goes in a constant crescendo. Reminds me to the last 2 albums, but darker. Great.

Excellent song. If the rest of this album is like this I'll probably end up liking it as much as Weather Systems.

Yeah seriously. My imagination can only go so far.

After searching for all the track names, I assume this is it *snip*

ETA: Actually, I'm not quite sure what the rule is on non-DT music-related leaks on the forums, so I won't link it. The new song is The Lost Song Part III, though.
I think that as long as we don't post the link, we can discuss the leak.

Absolutely no links to leaks, or hints at where to find them. You can discuss the music itself though, if you've heard it.

Wasn't all that crazy about it on the first listen but it grew on me after several listens. I do hope that it's not representative of the whole album though, as it's a bit too similar to Weather Systems (I love that album, but I'm expecting something a bit different on this one).

Usually the first single released from albums ends up being one of weaker tracks for me. The Beginning and the End was released as the first single for Weather Systems, and it's one of my least favorites from the album, even though I do enjoy it. So I'm not too worried about being disappointed by this album.

Pretty underwhelming tbh. Hopefully the rest of the album won't be.

haha I literally could've bet money on what your post would say Jimmy. going into the album with a disappointment mindset before this probably didn't help!

fantastic song. very atmospheric as usual, and I really love the vocals.

I usually avoid leaks, but this is just one song so what the heck...

I like it and I think it's a bit different from Weather Systems because of the smaller role of guitar - on WS there were acoustic arpeggios in almost every song. The rhythm is pretty proggy and I couldn't figure out the time signature yet :D

Actually I would say my mindset for this album is more positive than negative. If they had said "We're making another WHBWH/WS light album" I would have jumped off a bridge, but the whole "this album is darker" is actually really appealing to me. I have a feeling the album will be pretty good, I just found this first sample slightly underwhelming. But that's after one listen mind you. When I get my hands on the album and get repeated listens, it might be very different.  :)

It's a grower, definitely. I sounds a bit weird alone, but I think it will fit better in the album context.
