This album is fucking amazing.

I dunno, it's hitting me harder than WHBWH right now.  Much harder.

Got my copy yesterday and I've listened to it once. It needs more listens and time to sink in, but right now my impression is that it's a good record, but I wish there was more variety - most songs rely on one theme that gets developed with a buildup and for that reason it's a bit exhaustive to listen to the full album at once. But who knows, maybe it'll end up being my favorite Anathema album after it has grown on me.

Wow, my first listen of the album just blew me away. I expected it would need some listens to grow, like WHBWH did, but it clicked right away. The only song that still feels a bit "meh" is " The Lost Child", right now my favourites are Untouchable part 1, The Gathering of the Clouds and The Storm Before The Calm.

Yeah I hear you. I also feel like the album is a bit more one dimensional then WHBWH, many of the songs seem to follow a "formula", even though they're good songs.
Apart from Untouchable (both parts) and The Lost Child, none of the other songs really make me all super-excited like WHBWH did.

Yeah, I'm loving those songs too and "The Lost Child" is just kinda "there" right now.

Right now, WS is sitting right at the top of the 'stupidly amazing' pile.  There's nothing else in that pile from this year yet.

The Lost Child really picks up in the second half of the song. That one is definitely a grower.

Got the album yesterday, love the packaging. I agree with TKIC, this is definitely at the top of the albums released this year.

Yeah, imo, the first half is one of the weaker parts of the album, while the second half is one of the best.

First half of The Lost Child reminds me of older Anathema. Alternative 4/Judgement, maybe that's why I really love it.  :hat

Setlist for the first night of the tour in Krakow

They played all off Weather Systems except Sunlight and Gathering of the Clouds (which coincidentally are my 2 least favorites at the moment!) plus Emotional Winter and Wings of God! :tup I also remember that in some topic on the official Anathema forum Danny said they may play Shroud of Frost and Barriers on the new tour so maybe those 2 will be played on some upcoming shows.

That setlist looks so awesome. Emotional Winter is one of my favorites, Universal, Thin Air, Fragile Dreams, Flying, man it looks awesome.

New album is pretty awesome, but not as good as the last one I think.

The Storm Before the Calm is the best them.

The setlist looks good but they didn't play 2 of my favorite songs - Summernight Horizon and Leave No Trace. I hope they add at least one of those two if they come to America.

More listens might change your mind. I think it's absolutely equal at the very least.

The Storm Before the Calm is the best them.

I'M GETTING COLDER!

The second half of that song blows me away every single time.

I think it's better, but others here disagree.

I'd say give it a listen and see for yourself. :)

Well, I'm just saying that there's a diversity of opinions on it right now, though most seem to favor it being weaker than WHBWH.

Personally, I think the quality of WHBWH is vastly overblown.  It's a good album, but I kinda start to lose interest during the last two tracks.  WS, so far, has me hooked throughout.

I'd say its equally as great as WHBWH. Its kind of like a continuation of that album.

The last two tracks (Universal and Hindsight) are the best on the album. :O

Well in my defense I love the album a lot. So sadly one song has to end up last, I still really like Everything if that makes you feel any better, my dear.  :heart
