Oh god.
Expectations and excitement regarding the new album went through the roof. This is probably my most anticipated release this year, and that is a pretty big achievement looking at the other albums that will come out.
Loving the artwork, digging the title, and if the music is as good (or better) then WHBWH, then I see no reason for this album to be anything less but perfect.  :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

I didn't get into them through DTF, but I'm still grateful for all the other stuff you've shared with me.  :tup

I'm a new fan...I've only heard WHBWH, but I love it.  I'm really looking forward to this.

I really really love the album cover. If the music fits it, this will be one amazing album.

edit: added it to the post since it's not in the thread yet - this makes it easier to find for people :)

The play of opposites; light and shade, birth and death, love and fear. The simple truths of life and loss, hope and strength and darker internal themes are all explored here.
Looks like it'll be (slightly) darker than WHBWH; fine for me, Alternative 4 and Judgement are my 2 favorite albums and they're very melancholic!

Maybe I should get around to checking out WHBWH so I can listen to this. I have every album from Alternative 4 through A Natural Disaster, but I never bothered to check it out because their music isn't really the style/tone I've been digging recently. And, to be honest, the moment Steven Wilson's name was attached to it, my interest in it quartered.

It sounds from the description that it will be slightly darker, but the cover has a very light feel to it.
Will be interesting to see how they pull it off.  :)

:\ Why? Regardless if you like his music or not, he is an excellent producer, or in this case mixer. WHBWH's sound is incredible.

I'm generally not a fan of SW 99% of the time. However, I LOVE WHBWH. Idk, there is just something beautiful about it. I say that as someone who shares the same sentiment and is not a fan of SW (guys has his chops, just not really my style), and that it is worth checking out. :)

Oh, I admit it was a kneejerk reaction - after all, I never had many problems with his production, between BWP and the KC remasters - but one I've never gotten around to looking beyond. I might do as I did with The Mars Volta and use the new album as motivation to get caught up.

I'm not going to listen to the new song, because I don't want to spoil the album experience.
One thing I can say however, is that I am really excited about this album, possibly my most anticipated album of the year.

Haha, a good description! :lol It does give me an A4 vibe in its intensity and the strong role of piano. Can't wait to hear the full album!

I think I'll listen once, because I am highly curious. Plus, I won't remember too much about the song by the time the album comes out anyways.  :lol
