Perpetual Change has selected Dominici - "Greed, the Evil Seed" and has swapped it with Florence and the Machine - "Shake It Out" (antigoon).

MasterShakezula has the next selection.

I'll take D.

I want C, but I know Galaga has the weirdest boner for it, too, and I don't trust the unknown one that he'd be switching to me for C.

Don't give me C, the aftermath of the boner could destroy all life on Earth.

Wait till a bad office Christmas party. Just wait.

You can keep the song if you want but if you want to swap you're free to select any of the songs that have already been picked.

If you like the song you ended up with, keep it.

If not, swap it for someone else's.

Swap the damn song.  I heard a Sylvan album once...it was what we in the business of liking music call "not good." :P

Orcus' Song Roulette v2.0: Round 4 Results - The Great Roulette Song Swap
« Reply #204 on: November 05, 2011, 06:25:21 PM »
Round 4 Results: The Great Roulette Song Swap
Selection type: Random

Results are in order from least points to most points:

Ravenheart
Sylvan - "For One Day"
Man I just really did not get into this song at all. It was like an attempt at pop rock but just came across as a little too bland. I think the vocals were the real key in me not really liking it. The guy's voice just rubbed me the wrong way. The instrumentation wasn't all that creative either.

antigoon
Dominici - "Greed, The Evil Seed"
This reminded me of Train Of Thought more than anything. Hits pretty much every prog metal cliche in the book without fail and despite the fact that the lyrics obviously tie into some concept album I can't imagine them being very good even in context. There are some cool guitar parts (classical guitar thing in the middle of the song). It's alright as a song though I wouldn't actively seek it out to listen to it.

Nekov
VAST - "Here"
The change from the intro to the song really threw me. At first I didn't like it but then I started to dig the industrial metal sound. There wasn't much to the song but the breakdowns were kinda interesting. I wasn't overly impressed with the song but I could see myself listening to it from time to time.

Perpetual Change
Florence + The Machine - "Shake It Out"
There's something about female vocals that, if done right, sounds absolutely incredible. The vocals were really good on this song so that definitely worked in its favor. The instrumentation was pretty cool though I dunno if I was really sold by the tribal type sound in the chorus. Still overall a nice little song with a lot of power behind it.

MasterShakezula
Frank Zappa - "Peaches En Regalia"
Now this was a cool little tune. A little mix of mild funk with jazz and latin influences. It grooved real good and had a nice chill atmosphere. It's almost as if someone suggested that they try to find every instrument available and have them solo. In any case it was a cool song in a neat, short package.

Gorille85
Unexpect - "A Fading Stance/When The Joyful Dead Are Dancing/Until Yet A Few More Deaths Do Us Part"
Before anyone says anything I had to take Gorille's word on these three songs being a suite. I've heard much of Unexpect on this forum so this was a nice thing to get to listen to. What really peaked my interest was the chaos during the second song. I mean I'm used to BTBAM type back and forth but this took it to another level. The instrumentation was surprisingly top notch and each part was clearly audible, impressive for what was happening within the song. The real star of the show has got to be the fiddle. For some reason it just kept the whole tone of the suite together.

zxlkho
Mew - "Comforting Sounds
Mew's another band I've heard a lot about but never really bothered to check them out. Right from the get go this tickled my indie rock fancy. By the time the second half of the song hit I was already hooked. There's not a whole lot to really say about this song but it really did it for me. Very good pick.

The Tally:

22 - Gorille85
21 - MasterShakezula
20 - antigoon
20 - Perpetual Change
17 - zxlkho
12 - Nekov
11 - Ravenheart
