Yes. I hope you really need to appreciate the metaphors and messages.

As for me: Sebald - The Emigrants

I'm going to need a SWAT team ready to mobilize, street over maps covering all of Florida, a pot of coffee, twelve Jammie Dodgers and a Fez - Eleventh Doctor

The Eternal Prison by Jeff Somers

It's a mix of cyberpunk and how bad can I fuck with my protagonist and still keep him alive.  Great reading, very, very funny.  Third in the trilogy, the first two being The Electric Church and The Digital Plague.  I highly recommend all three.

I have a few pages left in Stanley Kubrick Interviews, which is probably worth reading if you're a fan of his movies. I bought Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuck today, this guy is crazy inspiring.

Right now I'm almost done re-reading the Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. I'm also halfway through Neuromancer (in English) and though I love the setting and imagery, it's about 1000 times harder than anything else I've ever read in English. The language seems pretty complicated to me and I feel there are a lot of things that I'm supposed to know or guess that I am not getting.

Currently reading The Necronomicon: The Tales of HP Lovecraft and The Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie.

I can only take Lovecraft in small doses at a time. He writes some creepy stories, but his bloated writing style can be... difficult to appreciate at times.

The racism doesn't help either.

Me too. I started reading Jane Eyre but I'm not really in the mood for it so it's back to Harry Potter for me  :)

Yes. I hope you really need to appreciate the metaphors and messages.

Yeah, it's probably the most allegory-ridden piece of literature I've ever read. The Inferno is full of references to Dante's lifetime, and the notes at the end of each Canto help me understand their significance in the story.

Just starting the Purgatorio today.

Yeah, well I wish Windows 7 would suck my dick and give me a dinosaur, but that's not going to happen either.

I can't say I loved Jane Eyre.

Although if you did, emindead, I would suggest tracking down a book called Wide Sargasso Sea. Can't remember the author's name, but it's kind of based on Jane Eyre.

I made it my goal to finish the last five books of the demonata series. I read 1-5 a few years ago. I'm just waiting for a new Dresden Files book though.

I'm really in to sci-fi, with amusing jokes through out it, or sarcastic characters, with page turning awesomeness that wont let you stop reading. Any suggestions?

I had to read it in my first semester and this book between Pride & Prejudice, Wuthering Heights and Mary Barton, was definitely the best.

Oh fair enough. I'm going to have to try and motivate myself to start reading it again, I stopped about a third of the way through.

I agree.  I like Lovecraft, but only a few stories every year or so.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
