I've read a TON of Heinlein, but not that novel, let me know how it is.

Will do. I actually haven't read anything by him. Picked that one at random  :P

I just read Study in Scarlet and really enjoyed it. I'm half way through The Valley of Fear.

Last week I read Sherlock Holmes; hound of the baskervilles and Animal farm (read it before). Now rereading 1984 and then on to something new. Either another Holmes novel or something heftier. Still have War and Peace lying around..
Decided to read Murakami's 'Norwegian Wood'. Really like it so far (100 p. in). I also read 'Dance dance dance' and 'Kafka on the Shore' by him. Especially the latter was really good.

I think it's one of his random shorter pieces, and from what I've read they are usually pretty entertaining. If you enjoy it, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and Stranger in a Strange Land are sci-fi must reads.

Just finished The Picture of Dorian Gray, it was absolutely brilliant. Some of the best dialogue I've ever read.

Also read Ethics for the New Millennium by the Dalai Lama for my engineering ethics class, it was really good.

I supposesd to be reading God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens (I promised Cole I would) but it hasn't eaxctly grabbed my attention. So instead I'm currently reading Noses by Harold M. Holden, M.D. It's a 300-page book on noting but its title.

And it's awesome.

I wouldn't recommend it. It's just a bunch of pieces of paper filled with emotional, whiny, personal diatribes against the supposed evils of religion. It could be summed up as "I'm Christopher Hitchens and I personally hate religion. Thank you for paying 15 bucks for my book."

I agree. I'm not really religious or anything, but it's intensely dramatic, often redundant, and often just poorly written. I mean, I can tell he's smart and great, I understand your point of view, but seriously WHO hasn't heard of the Crusades? He chastises religion for refusing to look at the Bible as a historical artifact, but also refuses to regard the fact that religion has evolved for many denominations.

Anyway. This is turning into a P&R post so I'll stop before I get too heated.

Regardless of content, if there is one thing that book is not, it's poorly written.

Alright alright, SOMETIMES poorly written. Redundancies and superfluous hyperboles are not helpful.

Started in both 'The Wind Trough the Keyhole' (King) and 'War and Peace' (Tolstoy) today. The latter is quite ambitieus but I'm sure I can get through it, the subject is interesting and I enjoy the way it is written.

After Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, I read Tough Shit: Life Advice From A Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good by Kevin Smith. Now I am reading It by Stephen King and it is, without a doubt, the best Stephen King book that I've read (even though I've only read a handful of his books). I've only been reading it for a few days and I'm already on page four-hundred.

Finished Wind Through the Keyhole, I liked it. Also started in War and Peace and liking it so far.

Pff, I've read 5 books in the past two weeks. Not bad, but part of that time should've gone towards studying :p.

My plan to re-read Steven Erikson's Malazan series hit a slight speed bump this week, called the release of Stephen King's The Wind Through The Keyhole. I'm a total Dark Tower addict, which means it was bought on Tuesday and finished the next day. Great book. That inspired me to read some more Dark Tower books, and after some consideration, since I had read and re-read the first three books over and over again during the long wait for Dark Tower IV and the even longer one for DT V, I decided to read just the later books. Went through Wizard and Glass in a couple of days, now reading Wolves of the Calla. Those books own me.

Almost the same with me on R Scott Bakker, but I decided to continue on with the reread.  I like Bakker more, anyways, and figured between the Prince of Nothing and Aspect Emperor subseries would be a good spot to fit it in.

...I'm also mildly hesitant on it being an after thought entry into the series.

Oh, I absolutely loved it. It's a very addictive book (much like It, actually, in that respect. I can't wait for the sequel that's coming out soon and the movie, too. Tim Burton is directing it.

I made the leap from Cakewalk Sonar Producer Edition to Avid ProTools 10 so I am currently reading this:

"Pro Tools 101 - An Introduction to Pro Tools 10"

I went with this because it's part of the approved Avid Certification Curriculum and so if I ever want to become Avid Certified I will have been exposed to actual course material.  So far the book has been excellent and I've learned quite a bit.  I'm about halfway through it, once I finish I will move on to the next one.

Ha, I actually just started using Sonar X1 Producer Edition and got this.

Haven't read much of it yet, I basically just use it as reference.

Reading The Gods of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs (so far, not as interesting as Princess) and I'm on the 1986 section of The Complete Far Side by Gary Larson
