Happy Birthday Enduring Freedom!

So it's been 10 years (already longer than the Soviet foray*),  and according to McChrystal we're about halfway done.  An interesting aspect of this little war of ours is that half of the population of Afghanistan is under 15,  meaning they have no recollection of 9/11.  We're just occupiers to them.  Sometimes good guys and other times bad.  Anyhoo,  the scoreboard so far:  https://graphics.latimes.com/afghan-war-anniversary/

Kind of hard not to notice that things are getting worse somewhat quickly. 

*ironically, we're stuck in a war started by people who deemed history meaningless.

It's not a war. We just have to call it that because "operation take control of the oil reserves" makes us sound like the bad guys.

I'm just glad that, even with Harper in power, we're going to be completely out of Afghanistan by the end of the year.
