You should ask her out to the next dance, man.

Just for mindless, fun, though.

If you actually committed to that, you'd be dead by facepalm in a week at most.

She's a dumbass.

I've known her since middle school, and I remember her saying there were 2 oceans.

I dunno why you guys are complaining, that sounds fucking hilarious.

There are just so many stupid people. We had a writing test for all Juniors, maybe 2 weeks ago. The prompt was about, "What is the best invention in today's society?"

These sorts of stupid people are everywhere. If they ruin your day in high school, you're in for a long life.

Is highschool really that bad in the US? Most of you seem that have had an awful time there.

I had a ton of friends, had a fair amount of fun and all that, but I can still say that is sucks a lot. I hated every second of it academically because I don't feel like I learned much in my time there.

Also this:
feels like an assembly line of sorts.

Wow guys. There's stupid people everywhere and they're really annoying but isn't there anything else you can mention on why highschool sucks? I remember having tons of fun with my classmates, joking around, making pranks, bothering teachers. There has to be something fun in your school day.

I love the chapel services at my high school. Those are some of my favorite memories and the classes and people in general. Man, I feel for those in public schools. I guess I always kind of knew it was an issue, but not this bad.

Honestly, I don't even eat lunch at school. I don't feel like packing it, and I'd rather not die from eating this processed food. I think the last time I ate school lunch was 8th grade. I had spaghetti, and I got so sick.

Aren't you allowed to go outside of school during lunch?

Only if we have an out to lunch pass, which they give, maybe twice a year. You can't leave, because it is "skipping"

My school, at least, allows juniors and seniors to eat out for lunch, if they show their ID card.

I'm so glad to be a junior or senior.

honestly, the traffic would be so bad for students to drive out during a 30 minute lunch that they would be late and would indeed be "skipping"

i saw it a lot when i was in high school

My old high school used to allow us to leave for lunch on Fridays as a Junior or Senior. Although there were only 150 of us. 45 of those being Juniors and Seniors.  :P

New school, no. But I do get to leave school early everyday for early release, so I go to lunch than

Yeah, especially since not only do you have a bunch of students trying to leave at once to hit up Mcdonald's or whatever, you have all the business people and general "lunchtime is around noontime" people going out to eat everywhere. And traffic is horrible at that time, even in my relative smaller town. Then once you actually get to the restaurant, you may have a long line (guaranteed, I used to work at Boston Market and by 12pm there was a long ass line) and then you have to actually eat it so that takes time.

Even if you eat in your car on the way back to school or drive somewhere off campus with a bagged lunch that isn't too far off campus, the traffic flow specific to your area makes it hard to not get caught in shitty traffic. May as well stay at school and hang out there. Honestly, it isn't that bad, and usually you'll be going home 2 hours later anyway.

The U.S. is a huge place, and the quality of schools both public and private varies considerably depending on where you look.  I went to public schools in Lansing Michigan, which is the capital but not a big city at all.  Our school was old, it was mostly minority students, and in a crappy part of town.  I still liked going, for all the reasons I gave before.  I got to play music, I got to see my friends, and I pretty much did what I wanted to do.  Yes, I had to be there, for a minimum of six hours a day or whatever.  So fucking what?  So did everyone else.

School, like anything else in life, is what you make of it.  There are things you cannot control, but you alone decide what attitude you're going to take with you into any situation.  I decided that I was gonna have a good time, and dammit, I did.

The stigma public schools have in this day and age baffles me.  I can guarantee that the education I got at my school is on par or better than the vast majority of private schools in the US.

You either went to an incredible high school or a lame college because college >>>>> high school. Way less bullshit.
