Thanks to the person for putting this up.  Thanks for the share here.

Good memories....while some things don't change (black outfits, JLB shouting over the end of the final notes), some have.  Nice to see concerts without the screen behind the stage, where one could focus easier on the band and the lighting.  Oh, and that guy behind the drum kit urging on the crowd throughout.
...going along with Dragon Attack's Queen thread has been like taking a free class in Queen knowledge. Where else are you gonna find info like that?!

haha, I was at the CT show of The Astonishing last night, and was utterly HUMBLED.

My only previous show was the Prog Nation show for BC&SL in Philly in... I think it was 2008.

I was in the presence of at least four people that were actually ON a DVD let alone at a filming of a DVD.   I feel like I was the only person there that wasn't at at least one of the "legendary" shows, like Radio City.

Figured I'd put together an actual list. Like BobS alluded to somewhere up above, cookie cutter tours pretty much did away with my traveling to see them. Any shows beyond '11 that I traveled to had extenuating circumstances. TA and LTE, on the other hand, I'll travel to the ends of the Earth to see.

Dallas, 8/16/02
Dallas, 6/25/03
Dallas, 8/2/05
NYC, 4/1/06
Dallas, 8/2/07
Dallas, 6/9/10
Houston, 6/9/10
Houston, 10/25/11
Austin, 10/26/11
Dallas, 10/27/11
Austin, 7/7/12
Dallas, 7/9/12
Wallingford, 4/20/16
NYC, 4/22/16
Dallas, 12/13/16
Dallas, 12/2/17
Dallas, 4/29/19

And for good measure:

Liquid Tension Experiment:

LA, 6/27/08

Transatlantic:

San Francisco, 4/18/10
Philadelphia, 2/8/14
NYC, 2/9/14

Shattered Fortress
NYC, 9/24/17

Still the greatest show I've ever seen. (sorry)

On the bright side, I was on the fence about posting my list on the basis of "that RaiseThKnife guy will probably just post his list under mine and make me look like a chump."  :lol   Well, there's still BobS, I'm afraid.

And I had tickets for the NYC LTE show but couldn't go  >:(
Given the exact opposite nature of the two shows, I'm pretty thankful I went West rather than East. Everybody has their own preferences, but I thought the theater vibe was more appropriate for their show than the rock show vibe. And then there was that whole keyboard solo thing.

Not sure how many times Franz has seen them, but I'm sure it's plenty. I think you're probably referring to a German guy by the name of Matthias who had seen them like 50 times by December of 1998 (MP mentioned this on the bootleg of one of the shows). However, I remember asking MP about Matthias several years ago, and he was under the impression (altho not confirmed) that Matthias may no longer be with us.

As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Looking at all the shows people have been too, wow.

I have been to 2 DT concerts.

2014 - in Riverside, CA
Last night - in Los Angeles, CA

Although I did meet a person who has been 9 venues so far during this current DT tour and she will see them for the 10th time at Oakland tonight. Now that is dedication.

I have been to 2 DT concerts.

2014 - in Riverside, CA
Last night - in Los Angeles, CA

Although I did meet a person who has been 9 venues so far during this current DT tour and she will see them for the 10th time at Oakland tonight. Now that is dedication.
I used to be that kind of person (see my list of shows) but since they went to the static setlist, once per tour is enough for me.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.
