Asking Alexandria is literally one of the worst bands I've ever heard.

Nah. You're right. I lived in Laplace (25 miles west of N.O.) from birth to 8 years old and Metairie for all but < 3 years of the rest of my life that was split between Lafayette and N. Carolina. Shit away on the 318. Lafayette for that matter too since a lot of the locals there had a shitty mentality toward New Orleans (many were saying "oh, they're never gonna recover. I saw how bad it looked on the [beyond sensationalized] news." I'd then ask 'em when was the last time they'd been there and the usual answer was a minimum of 2-3 years pre-Katrina) yet thought Katrina had done sufficient enough damage to NOLA for their glorified hick town to become the new biggest city of Louisiana in the near future. All the while, countless Lafayette food establishments and bars touted "New Orleans style..." this and that extensively on their signage. Fuck 'em.

Scourge of Iron is cool. I love when Cannibal Corpse gets all slow and groovy. They pull it off well.

My absolute favorite part of these songs is how high the bass is in the mix. The last few albums seemed to turn it down a little bit too much.

Listened to this song probably 5 times now, and I love it more each time, hyping the shit out of Torture still.

I think Torture has the potential to be the best album of the George-era. As long as the rest of the songs are as good as the two we've heard already, I think we can bet on it.

Damn, the solo takes me by surprise everytime, and the way they just meld back into that groove.  I'm quite sure this will AT LEAST be in my top 5 for AOTY in December.

I've actually never heard Gorod, but I'm on a death metal kick, so I'm down for it. Would that album be a good starting point?

I'm spinning 2012 death metal all day today. Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse, and whatever else I decide to listen to when I get home. Throw me some recs.

I'd say it's a good starting point, lots of different genre influences on the album, Process of A New Decline is also a really good album of theirs.  If you've never heard of them Dismember is a pretty legendary DM band, their album Like An Everflowing Stream is just godly.
Six Feet Unders album Undead from this year was also very surprisingly awesome.

Burning the Masses is also quite cool.

My album of the year last year. Brilliant tech death band.

Random thought: was I the only one genuinely disappointed by the latest Nile album? Or have they hit their personal wall with their style where I'm concerned? Because it bored me to tears.
The bones of beasts and the bones of kings become dust in the wake of the hymn.
