I dislike the production on their debut. The music is good, though. I can listen to Mafia all day.

'World Under Blood'

this is CKY singer/guitarist Deron Miller's new band. not sure if its 100% death metal, but hes a fan of bands like death, pestilence, etc. and the drummer is Tim Yeung from morbid angel, hate eternal, etc.

This is me when I first hear of Scar Symmetry's Holographic Universe:

Here's me when I listen to it:

Now here's me when I go home to look them up, and find out that the singer, who pretty much made the album for me, is gone:

You'll need to find another happy one for when you list to the Solution .45 album....................with the preferred singer.

The new Scar Symettry isn't bad and is still getting quite a few spins from me on a weekly basis.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

I only got into Scar Symmetry a week or so ago and I'm LOVING the latest album. One before that doesn't interest me much yet. I just got Holographic Universe, and the old vocalist sounds a lot better, but I haven't really listened to it yet.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Right now I just listen to Opeth and Children of Bodom.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. The thing about Scar Symmetry is that their newest album is really damn good, but Holographic Universe is basically one of the best melodic death albums I can think of. And the vocals are really one of the major focal points of the album (next to the guitar bad-assery).
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Haven't checked out any Scar Symmetry stuff since Älvestam left as he was the main draw for me. I like For Aeons Past more than Holographic Universe anyway.

I have Pitch Black Progress and love it.  For a while it was all I listened to.  Amazing album  :metal

I hear a lot of good about Holographic Universe, maybe I should check it out.

That was way more melodic than I was expecting. Still cool though, been waiting to hear this stuff for a good while now

Bump because I am borrowing my Dad's iPod and found he has a band I've been meaning to listen to for a while; The Haunted. The album title intrigued me. The Haunted Made Me Do It. It's quite good. Very thrashy at times, and has a bit of a melodic death feel here and there. I am enjoying this.

Someone I knew in high school really liked them. As a result, I avoided them.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

The vocals were a bit iffy at first, but man this album is actually pretty recommendable. Give it a listen sometime.

Can't believe I missed all the SS talk.  Basically one of my fav melo death bands.  Holographic Universe and For Aeons Past are both in the top 5 best melodic death metal albums of all time, they are just amazing.  I still think I prefer Universe though, every song is just killer.

I really enjoyed Unseen Empire.  The vocals seem to fit in more this time than on DMD, great songs on it too.  Still no match for HU, but a great album in its own right.
Everyone else, except Wolfking is wrong.

I love at the end how Paul and Alex just look totally crushed, and Pat's just like "meh." He's seriously one of the most underrated guitarists ever.

Nile is kickass. I love the Egyptian theme they got going on.

:metal :metal :metal

This isn't related to the music in any way, but the vocalist of The Haunted had (has?) a blog where he expressed his very outspoken opinions on things, and Blabbermouth used to constantly post them to piss off commenters. It was always good for a laugh. He was considered a bit of a joke for a while.
Gadough isn't Hitler. He's much, much worse.

just sent this to Ariich in his roulette.

Asking Alexandria, the song was Closure.

put, growlers, screamers, high school clean vocals, quality riffage, and......TECHNO...together. Instant musical chaos.

I love it.
