If you don't like Cryptopsy or haven't heard Cryptopsy, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOjyQ9h1re8

If it's about Death, then lolopinions.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

Decapitated, anyone? The album "Winds of Creation" is excellent.

Yes!  Decapitated is probably my favorite DM band.  Organic Hallucinosis is really great, and they started to incorporate some experimental/progressive kind of sounds in on that album, which is cool.  I can't wait to see what Vogg and the new guys come up with for the new one.  I saw them this past summer with the new lineup and they were dead-on, despite everything that's happened to them.

I used to be a big fan of the genre when I was younger but a few years ago I got tired of it.

Nowadays I mostly listen to the classics and the more famous bands, and a few obscure ones: Death, Amon Amarth, Nile, Morbid Angel, Order From Chaos, Origin, old Cynic and Demilich.

Still convinced that Demilich's Nespithe is one of the greatest albums to be found in the genre.

Agree.

Personally, I think it's on the same level as Human and Altars of Madness.

So what does everyone think of the samples from the new Decapitated? I'm so excited, already pre-ordered my bundle package.

I don't knolw anything else yet, but 'Day 69' is the heaviest, coolest track evah! Powah drumsolo, finally a good one! And the re-entrance of the intro riff after the short drumsolo is just skullcrushingly great.
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

I've listened to the first few songs off the new Autopsy album, and this is awesome. Slow, heavy, and evil.

You're going out for a walk
I follow closely from behind
In my hand I have a rock
To your skull it will grind
I take you back to my room
To have some fun before your doom
Little slices bring big pain
Some would say I'm insane

Your screams go silent in this place
Blood, tears and cum covers your face
One big slash across your chest
Blood splatters from breast to breast
I'll carve you a new fuckhole
And chain you to my toilet bowl
Won't kill you, but you'll wish you were dead
Keep you as my dirty gore whore instead

Rape you, kill you

[Lead - Coralles]

I'm your keeper, you belong to me
I control the world you see
Never again will you be free
I'm your keeper, you belong to me

[Lead - Cutler]

Dirty gore whore
Thrust my hips and my blade
Dirty gore whore
Consciousness begins to fade
Dirty gore whore
It's now time to find the next
Dirty gore whore
Fulfill my lust for blood and sex

Well, um...I think might mark a first for me.

Oh, and can I get some recommendations for Death Metal with good production and reasonable "vocal make-out-ability."

edit: For example, I just listened to Nile's Sarcophagus. Brutal but the vocals are a massive turnoff. It really does just sound like RORORO.

is there any death metal without growls?
Of course Dream Theater isn't that good. Good music is obviously about 3 minute pop songs and catchy hooks.
Dream Theater aren't that good. Neither was Beethoven, or Mozart, or Bach. Pfft, 20 minute epics. Who needs that?
