The Retrievers of Gold

Sounds like a post rock band I wouldn't care two shits about :lol

Sigz and zxlkho have all of their albums on vinyl.

I don't think Sigz listens to vinyl.

I love an English Bulldog, but for a more practical dog probably border collies or black labs. I love everything but little yip dogs though.

I lose all manliness when it comes to dogs. Corgis are just too adorable for me to look at without losing all semblance of rationality or intelligence.

Fuck I love cute dogs.

Two pages and not a single puppy picture!?  What the hell is wrong with you people?

My favorite breeds are beagles:

I came in here to post that I'd want a Welsh Corgi so that I could name him Ein.

That's what's up. :tup
Yep.  They're the best dogs.

Huskies are cool too...but AFAIK they aren't as loving.

As the owner of 2 dogs a Bichon and a Poodle (we rescued him from a shelter about 2 weeks ago) I don't have an issue with any type of breed

Wrong....Huskies are very gentle, loving dogs. The BEST around kids I've ever seen, and are incredibly affectionate. The only thing is they do have a bit of an independent streak in them, which means that if an intruder took over your house, and tossed you out, your husky might miss you for a few days, but he'd be following the other guy around after a while.  :lol  This is actually a good thing for their intended purpose. Sledding. In the sled dog world, the dog has to be able to be independent minded enough that if the musher/driver tries to blindly drive the team over a cliff, that they will not go over the edge. This inbred trait usually exhibits itself when it's raining buckets outside, and you are running late to somewhere, and you call the dog to come inside, and he takes a couple of steps, and then pauses....before sitting down and staring at you, and then try as you might to control the tension in your voice, he finally lies down (in the mud usually), and looks away like he can't hear you, thereby forcing you to go to HIM and make him come inside. This bit of stubbornness and their wanderlust are the two biggest things that you need to worry about. I know someone whose husky won the nationals in obedience search and rescue (huskies are one of, if not the smartest breeds), but this same, well trained, obedient, intelligent dog, ran across the street from her one day and was struck and killed by an oncoming truck.

My Father has a Catahoola Leopard Dog. From what I heard about the species it was originally bred and cultivated by Southern Native American Indians to wrestle/hunt wild hog. This dog does not have one ounce of fat on its body....it's a freakin' piece of steel. Just solid and thick. He has a blue and green eye which freaks me out and his head is as massive and bulky as a bowling ball and his bark sounds like a ticked off Lion. That bark alone would make you pee yourself if you heard it out of the blue. All of that and he is a sweet dog, just huge and hard to handle.

I know a lot of you don't like small dogs, but I love my Cockapoos.  They're specialty bread mixed breed of Cocker Spaniel and Poodle, with the cool aspects of Cocker Spaniels and the lack of shedding that comes with a poodle.

Here's what they look like.  This is Daisy, she's 8 years old:

This is Dino and he's 5 years old:

Both were rescued from a cruel breeder who is actually now in jail for a host of animal cruelty offenses.

^My neighbor has a Great Dane!  His name is "Rufus" and he's freaking huge and overly friendly, but I don't mind.  Whenever I go over there I end up on the grass play-fighting with Rufus and he's the most kind and gentle soul, with so much friendliness.

The only downside is the gigantic size of the, um, packages he leaves in the yard.  :lol

George Carlin said that the biggest problem with a Great Dane is that with a normal dog you only have to look for shit in one direction.

We had a family in the neighborhood that had 8 great danes.  They were huge!!!  We now have a next door neighbor how has a half great dane and half bull mastiff.  He looks like Scooby Doo.  He is so lovable and I'm not joking when I say he also doubles as an ottoman.
