On my first listen, I really like "Storm Corrosion" and Drag Ropes was good as well. After some of the reactions places/people have had, I expected to come in and be disappointed but so far at least I like it, although I did really like Heritage compared to some people...
My feelings exactly. Apart from Ljudet innan, none of the songs made me think "when will this end?".

Listening to the album for the first time, and during Happy there was thunder... and the best part was I couldn't tell if it had just come from the music or from outside at first.

He recommends a track by Throbbing Gristle called "Slug Bait". I listened to it a few days ago and it is one of the most disturbing pieces of music I've ever heard.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. Just listened to it as well. Very creepy.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

The lyrics are what make it so gnarly.

I thought it was a great interview. I really like Faceculture, to me they often go deeper then just asking the normal questions, and their interviews always (or in most cases) turn out great. This one was no exception. :)

Man, I haven't truly enjoyed or watched an entire interview in a long time but that was an amazing interview. Wonderful questions, polite, the interviewer didn't seem to lead the interviewee like so many do, and best of all Wilson seemed to enjoy the questions and was very expansive in his answers. Awesome stuff. I really like his insight into the creation of music and where it comes from as well as how it's created. The best part came at the very end though whenever he touched upon something that I had wondered about since I first got into music as a kid: The release of albums and the entry into the studio.

That has always baffled me and Wilson seems like the only fucking brain in the industry that even cares about something like that. I don't give two shits when you're going into the studio and I don't want to know when the album will be out; tell us at your leisure whenever you know you have material that is up to par with your standards and you actually have a viable outline of when it will be released. So many times bands will do what Wilson said and then months later they say "Oh, well it'll have to be pushed back"... well no fucking shit, you twat; you stated an album would be out before material was even written or thought of. That has always irked me and it made me love the man even more to hear someone finally bring that up. Lordy I feel like my brain came.

P.S. I don't know if it's my car's sound system or you guys are just nuts but SC sounds fucking awesome in the car. I just drove back from a very stormy downtown and it is the only time where I actually liked sitting in traffic, lighting and thunder all around, rain pouring so hard I can barely see the car in front of me... It was surreal, all thanks to SC. Happy sounded especially amazing, but Hag will forever drown me in a melancholic euphoria. After hearing all the bad things about how it sounds in a car setting, I expected to turn it off but I did the opposite and cranked that shit up. Hag is definitely my favorite track, far and away.

Yeah. I don't think it'll go down as a classic SW or MA album, but it's a neat thing they did. Maybe it's like LTE is to DT - you're not going to listen to it often, but when you do it's a real treat.

The title-track and "Ljudet Innan" makes it awesome. The rest of the songs are great, but those two stand out for me.

I still absolutely adore every minute of this album. It's definitely a 'seasonal' album for me, but I really love each track. They all stand very well on their own, but it's an experience to be in the right setting and listen to the album in its entirety. Hag is truly amazing. Really, really want the guys to do something like this again. Maybe even a straight up follow-up album.

It's a good album, although it requires from me to be in a very special mood in order for me to fully enjoy it. Drag ropes is the absolute highlight.

"Drag Ropes" is pretty cool, the rest is too ambient (and boring) for me.  Moments of coolness sprinkled on top of long lengths of nothing.

Listened to this album the other night while falling asleep... God, I love it so very much. The title track and Ljudet Innan are just absolutely mindbogglingly beautiful. Hag is also up there.

SW tweeted earlier today that he received a grammy nomination for the surround sound version of this; it is his 4th nomination in that category (Fear of a Blank Planet, The Incident, Grace for Downing and now this).

No way he will get it, but I would be happy for him. He didn't win it with GfD and I'd say his chances are lower with SC.

Yeah, he keeps getting nominated but I'd be really surprised to see him actually win. Either way, it's cool to see him get some recognition :)

This. One day maybe he will get the recognition he deserves, but it won't be this time and it won't be this album. Although it should be.

I haven't listened to this album a lot recently, but I still enjoy the songs when I happen to listen to them. Hopefully Mikael and Steven will find enough time to record a followup at some point, because I'd love to hear more of this kind of unique music!
