Are you serious? People have therefore been sharing illegitimate versions of songs in every single song roulette in GMD, and you call me out on linking to something that's not even the actual song.

I would suggest you use the report feature then. Posting links to songs that are uploaded from bands/labels etc are fine, but posting random youtube links is not.

www.stormcorrosion.com is up

Is that really the site? It's terrible.

Understandable that they aren't doing a super expensive / 150% effort thing when it's a project that might never release an album again. :P

Usually it's only if you make no reference to it being a leak that you're listening to and if the artist has requested that you don't.

So I just did a runthru of the discography of Scott Walker, who has been mentioned quite a bit as an influence for Storm Corrosion. I'm in the middle of The Drift right now and it is a freaking fantastic album. Even if SC manages to be just a shadow of The Drift, it's going to be great.

I forgot who mentioned it or turned me onto his music (Sir Sigzagoon, I believe) but I listened to The Drift a while back as well and really loved it. Very haunting and interesting, it definitely pulls the listener into a world of its own. I can't say I'd want the same from SC, but having it as an influence doesn't hurt; that's very intriguing though.

Now that I think of it, Scott Walker might have been a big influence for Steven. Musically "Track One" off GFD is something Scott Walker would cook up. There's also a Scott Walker album with song titles "Track Three", "Track Five", etc.

I can definitely see strokes of influence from that genre, so I could see SW being inspired by Walker; Bass Communion definitely comes to mind foremost. But yeah GFD has some remnants of that style. It's not my favorite part of SW's music, but when used in moderation, it brings some depth and atmosphere to the songs, that's for sure.

Does the special edition bluray/CD pack have high-res 96K/24bit stereo mixes?

The track listing suggests it has 5.1 mixes and instrumentals, with the stereo mixes (I presume) being on the standard CD.

Just judging on Steven's prior special packages, I'd be willing to bet many many dollars that the blu-ray will have hi-res stereo as an option.

Woah, seriously? Got any links?

Scott Walker's recent music is some of the most fucked up stuff I've ever heard. Can't get through The Drift in one sitting.

In a couple different audio interviews, Steven's mentioned Scott Walker as an influence for at least Mikael.

I have a strange feeling telling me that I'll have a tough/long time getting into this album, much like what happened with Heritage.

Tracklisting states that there are high-res high-res 96K/24bit stereo mixes of all the songs.. Link below to tracklisting that shows this info.

Yeah I think the same. Personally I'm pretty sure I will like it, but seeing how many people disliked Heritage, this might not be their thing at all.

I'm not expecting to love it, but I think I'll like it. Just like Heritage.

If only they had done this collaboration circa 2005....Ghost Reveries meets Deadwing would have been amazing.
