8:06 to 8:21 in Lost Not Forgotten
« on: September 23, 2011, 01:31:07 PM »
Who else thinks that from 8:06 to 8:21 in Lost Not Forgotten is one of the best riffs on the album?

It also reminds me of Metropolis Pt 1.

It is a good riff. However, I usually get a little sad inside to hear it because it marks the completion of one of JP's best guitar solos ever!

Interesting, you like that solo more then the one on Breaking all Illusions?

I love that part and I go crazy on this riff as well just before the guitar solo. 6:57ish - 7:10 Not sure what about that riff makes it feel so awesome. I think that key change and crunchy riff just sounds excellent.

It reminds me of Final Fantasy 7 also, if anyone knows what I'm talking about.  :millahhhh

Also the section 4:51-5:38. One of my favourite parts of the whole album

It reminds me of Afterlife a little bit or WDADU in general and I really dig that. LNF is my favorite on the album.

The beginning of the instrumental section is pretty fucking awesome as well. But, that riff following the guitar solo is amazing!

This is one of the many small parts from the new album that randomly pop into my head throughout the day, even when I'm concentrating on something else  :lol

That riff is great, my favorite part of the song.  JR's solo right after is pretty special as well.  A couple of parts in it actually remind me a little of KM...might just be the general UAGM vibe, though.

I've noticed the same; the beginning of the solo is very KM'ish.

Yea, very remarkable section. I'd be most interested in seeing the chords before it and in it. I'm too lame to analyze it myself. :-(

No, that solo is sexy too for sure. I always have a hard time choosing what to like/love over another for most of DT's material (except most of the FII album...not my most fav). But one of the reasons why I enjoy the LNF solo are those tasty whammy hits that were brought up. The BAI solo tickles my bluesy, jazzy bone...much love. Overall, I felt that all of the solos on this album were composed extremely well.
