BMUBMD with LNF
« on: September 20, 2011, 04:58:19 PM »
After listening to ADTOE countless times, one can really get into the segue between BMUBMD and LNF, going from a more commercial tune to one of vast proportions. Although it is my personal hope they start with BITS, who or who would not want to see DT play these two songs back to back live?

Don't really care about them being back to back but I'd like to hear them both played at some point.
Especially LNF

I really don't care. I'd be fine if they play any song from the album live

I'd love to see BITS as the opener, BMUBMD with LNF somewhere in the middle, On The Backs of Angels somewhere in the setlist, and FFH/BAI as an encore.

Not anywhere near the top of my list of songs I'd like to hear live. However, of course I would like to hear them played back to back live. No brainer

On the vinyl version, BMUBMD is shorter as they cut out the horses galloping. I like that version better

The string section at the end of Build Me Up is amazing. It has this big cinematic feel that makes me go crazy.

No. purely because, although BMUBMD is a great commercial track, LNF should be opening the set and therefore could not be played before ;)

I think that BMUBMD will not be played before LNF, anyway it would be great to hear all of the songs from ADTOE on tour, but I bet for OTBOA, LNF, BITS and BAI to hear only on this tour...

Honestly?

I'm personally hoping that neither of these songs make the set.

so long as DC gets BAI, i'm good with anything. that said, it'd be cool for them to do these two songs back to back.

i think (and it's a credit to the album) that i'd enjoy hearing any of these songs live.

(but seriously, will be bummed if no BAI in DC >.>)

I'll half agree with Jaffa. I wouldn't mind seeing BMUBMD live but LNF doesn't do that much for me as a whole and I'd rather they play something else from the album instead.

Cool to see almost half wants to see the whole album played back to back. I think that would be amazing IMO it's their first record since SFAM that is good enough for that  :tup

But I seriously doubt that's gonna happen..

They also did that with Octavarium for a couple of shows, if I recall correctly.

They have done that, and actually, they also opened their first night of the TOT-tour with the whole album played in the first set, but it was only done that night.

To date, both WDADU and IAW have been played in their entirety as part of Anniversary celebrations, while SFAM was done because it was a narrative-concept album and was played straight through as part of the tour for it, while 8VM was done because of it's on kind of "concept" that made sense to play it through a couple times.

Incidentally, those four albums have had their full-set performances released somewhere (WDADU as WDADR on YtseJam Records; IAW 15th Anniversary as a Fan Club disc; SFAM on LSFNY; and 8VM on the Romavarium Fan Club DVD), so I suspect if the band decided to play the whole album at some point this upcoming tour, they'll find a way to release it. It's certainly good enough to play straight through, but to be honest, I'd like to see them break up a bit...

OTBOA
(A couple classics)
BMUBMD
LNF
(A couple more classics)
TITL
(Something heavy)
BITS
Outcry
(a ballad and something else)
FFH/BAI/BTS
("Encore")

When everything cuts out in Outcry near the end there's an audible pop/click that I thought was pretty shoddy!

I think it would be a really smart move to play the entire album (whether straight through or mixed up) this tour. Mangini would have less of Portnoy's tracks to memorize, and I think the whole band would get re-energized skipping some of the old standards for a while.
