The Undiscovered Country

Anyone who gets the reference wins a cookie.

I know it's a star trek film. Star trek 6 in fact. It's also a literary quote for death. beyond that, i don't know.

It's the name of some Star Trek movie, much like the Final Frontier?

I disagree with having called the album Bridges in the Sky, for the simple reason that in the past the song which references the album title has always had some thematic relevance. If the album is named after the song (or a lyric within the song), that song is always seen as particularly important, and I don't see The Shaman's Trance as having that kind of significance.

I heard from somewhere that the original title was Bridges In The Sky, which is why we got the cover artwork that we have.

I still think this would have been the opportune time to release a self-titled album.

Scenes From a Dramatic Uprising

Sights & Sounds

A Draught Taste of Eternity
"And there is a Catskill eagle in some souls that can alike dive down into the blackest gorges, and soar out of them again and become invisible in the sunny spaces. And even if he for ever flies within the gorge, that gorge is in the mountains; so that even in his lowest swoop the mountain eagle is still higher than other birds upon the plain, even though they soar." - Herman Melville, Moby-Dick

I think the original title of Bridges in the Sky would have been cool. Or Breaking All Illusions would have been even better. Actually yep, I'm going with Breaking All Illusions. Would be a somewhat apt title.

Breaking All Illusions would have been pretty cool

I would agree with BAI as the album title with no unicycle guy anywhere.

Actually, it should've been called Majesty.

And this should've been the cover:

I'd prefer the negative image, black cover, silver embossed logo. Classy.

Agreed in general, but I'm not sure that following up 'Black Clouds and Silver Linings' with a black and silver cover and an album title referring to their beginnings would really say 'moving forward' very well.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

Like Jaffa says, the black & silver would echo BC&SL too much, I think.  Plus, I like real basic style of the black on white.

And besides, we could then call it "The White Album".  :metal

Exactly. Even "Dream Theater" would imply that "hey, we' re still around eventhough Mike left". It had to be something fresh totally irrelevant with the situation. That's why I don't really like ADTOE (the album name that is).  BAI would be alot better.

I like "Breaking All Illusions". Not that the album title really means much, but I think that it would be a good one.

Turn the Page - I like that, M.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. We had a studio and a spare drummer so WTF

But "Bridges in the Sky" would have been extremely cool, with the celestial background in the artwork and without the dumb plane and clown.
