And I have a PHD in music so I'm right and you're wrong.

Sadly, Ph.D.'s today can't seem to spell Ph.D. right :p

Um yeah, but I have a PHD, so therefore my spelling is correct, and yours is wrong.  :yeahright
And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for you pesky champbassist.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

most tech is systematic chaos

I was debating between SC and SFAM. The more I think about it the more I agree...  Constant Motion, The Dark Eternal Night are rediculously technical songs.

i wouldnt say constant motion is that technical. apart from JP's solo, nothing seems that crazy on it

Intro is pretty tech. Odd times all over the place.

Most tech in terms of shred and chops is probably Train of Thought. Some of Petrucci's playing on that album is seriously quick and technical, especially his solos on Endless Sacrifice and In The Name of God. Some seriously fast, complex stuff going on there. In terms of arrangement and full band madness, ADToE is up there but I thought it wasn't quite as tech as the most Tech moments on SFAM, but that album only really takes off in specific places. One of those two albums, depending on what you're looking for.
