Seeing as I'm the only one who staunchly supported the side that said music is strictly objective...I'm going to have to concede.  :millahhhh
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. G. Sertillanges

if someone with my musical abilities (read:  none) tried to make a song, it would be objectively bad.  In contrast, musicians as skilled as DT would be objectively good.
each of us have personal tastes, though, so music is also subjective.

so the answer is both

There've been a few times I can think of where people made intentionally bad poetry/literature/art just to screw with people and critics ended up loving it anyway. I have no doubt that if someone who knew nothing about music made a song there'd be someone out there saying it's fantastic.

If you're talking about the technicality then, yeah, I agree.
