Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

Quote from: Nekov on September 17, 2011, 06:52:50 AMIt's hard to say who's the best. I agree that Iron Maiden is the most iconic and important band in heavy metal, but it is hard to compare it with other bands like DT since they play very different styles. How is Iron Maiden the most important metal band ever? They basically did what Judas Priest had already been doing (pretty much the same style, but with a few minor differences). The history of metal wouldn't have changed that much without the presence of Iron Maiden (although I know hardcore Maiden fans will insist otherwise). Besides, Black Sabbath is more important than either Priest or Maiden.

Melodeath is VERY influenced by Iron Maiden. The melodic parts of Maiden were the real key to starting the genre.

They're not the best metal band because Sigz thinks they're boring and his opinion is always right.
The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.
Maybe if they didn't suck for the past 20 years.
Aside from a few choice cuts I find it difficult to tell most 80s metal songs apart.

You forgot Enslaved and Alcest (if you count them)
