It's great; I should post a clip. Highway Ones are really good bang for the buck. And I LOVE the jumbo frets

How much was it?

On fender news. I have a squier but it was made when squiers were actual good cheaper strats. I love it. It plays great but man, it needs a new bridge and a new pickup switch.

What kinda pickups are in them? Stock?

I was thinking about taking the pickups they put in David Gilmours sig series and putting it in the squier.

That was my official Cold Gin Les Paul.  A '94, I believe.  That guitar has been played in some 25+ states, if I remember right.  Of course, the three of mine pictures here are only part of the collection.  There's another 6 guitars laying around somewhere.  :lol

I'm about to buy an 18" Zildjian Oriental China Trash (Lars Ulrich uses the same one). It's on sale for $170 instead of ~$250, so I figured that now's my chance. Anyone have any opinions on it?

I used to use some Zildjian before I made the switch to Sabian.

The only one I miss is the China. I can't remember the exact model, but they make some damn fine Chinas.

Well I ordered it yesterday since the sale was gonna end, and my step-dad said that if I buy a quality china, he'd buy me a stand because he didn't want me putting it on the crappy spare one I have. I have a Tama RoadPro and it's excellent, so I'm gonna have him get another of those. By far the best piece of equipment I've ever used, and one of the reasons I switched to Tama for all my hardware instead of Pearl.

Here's my practice kit at home! Specs:
DW Smart Practice "Go Anywhere" Drum Pad Set - two 8" pads, two 10" pads, bass pedal pad, and stand
HQ Percussion Real Feel Practice Pads: double-sided 6", double-sided 12"
Pintech Practice Cymbals: 18" ride (with upside down mouse-pad on top surface), 16" crash, two 12" crash, two 10" splash
Pearl Practice Hi-Hat: 13", top cymbal with rubber padding
Pearl double bass pedal (model unknown - inherited from my father)
Taye brand hi-hat stand
Various cymbal stands, connectors, arms, etc. etc.

It works really well! I have a lot of fun jamming on it and working on rudimentary exercises and getting my hand-speed back up to what it used to be a few years ago when I was playing on real drums almost every day. Having this set up in my room really inspires me to practice every day and now I can without being too loud! My only gripe is that the Pintech cymbals suck for playing on top, which is why I have the mouse-pad duct-taped to the ride cymbal - there's barely any bounce as it's just plastic, and it's louder than you think it would be, but the mouse-pad tones it down a lot and gives it more bounce.

Close-ups

-Marc.

Absolutely there is. It's not what suits a beginner, it's what suits you. Gotta try a bunch out till you find the right one.
