I posted in this thread years ago, but the links are dead, so what the hell, here's another picture of my keyboard rig.

Which is the one with the fully functional contrast knob?

The Yamaha, the 88-key P.O.S. with the glowing blue display.  From the angle in the picture, you can't read it, but if you're in front of it, it tells you what patch you're on and your main settings.  Now imagine that somehow the contrast got turned all the way up.  You'd think that higher contrast would make it much clearer, but for whatever reason, "contrast" is just another brightness setting, and everything was all bluish-white and washed out.

My problem was that I didn't even remember that there was a contrast knob, so it never occurred to me to check the contrast setting.  I just figured the display was fried.

Loving the Prophet, Orbert! I saw the picture in the picture thread, and I thought it had a sorta Dave Smith vibe, but I couldn't place it. So it's the original Prophet, nice!

Definitely a Dave Smith vibe, as he of course is the original designer.  I love the new Prophets by DSI.  I want one.

My main bass right now. It's an Ibanez GSR206. I got this for my birthday last year and the extended range has really inspired my writing. The scrunchy around the neck is to help dampen the strings for when I want to do some two handed tapping up on the higher end of the fretboard.

Old faithful. This is a Fender Jazz Bass (obviously) and is my pride and joy. I got it for my junior high school graduation 10 years ago (wow time flies) and it immediately became my most prized possession. This was my main bass for years until my writing and playing style changed and became geared more towards 5 and 6 strings. Still, this was the most recent bass that I gigged with back when I was in a jazz band, and is probably the best sounding instrument that I have. I keep it in Drop D tuning now since my 6 string has E standard tuning covered and for other standard tunings like C or D, I can just pop my capo onto the 6 string's neck.

This is a Kramer Striker 5 string and was the first extended range bass that I got, buying it off of a friend. It's wiring is a little messed up and the nut is slightly out of place, but these are all easily fixable things. I keep it tuned down a half step to Eb standard so that I can have the low Bb (perfect for when I want to cover The Root of All Evil) and with these three instruments in different tunings and my capo, I have all that I will ever need for gigging, with all tunings that I write in covered.

So after a long wait, my new baby is coming on Monday. I've been missing my Floyd since the wood split under the bridge on my Jem.

She's a beauty for the price. May need to upgrade the pickups at some point as I'm sure I'll miss the Evos.

It's an Ibanez RG370. She's a looker alright.

I was looking for a super strat in blue, like Jake E Lee's Charvel from back in the 80s. Always wanted a blue guitar. When I saw this I fell for it..😍

Bump

I'm building a custom pedalboard. Right now I'm almost done making custom length cables for it. Still gotta paint it, glue on some siding, and install the patch bay and power supply.

Before Amp
Guitar > Korg Pitchblack Tuner > TC Electronic Forcefield Compressor > Digitech Drop > Digitech Whammy(w/ Cycle Path 05) > Loop Switcher (Loop 1: Dunlop Crybaby from Hell, Loop 2: MXR Phase 90, Loop 3: EHX Soul Food w/ JHS Mod) > Loop Master Effect Looper/Channel Switcher(In Loop: TC Electronic Spark Mini Booster > Boss Super Overdrive) > Orange CR120H

Orange FS-1 Footswitch for Amp Reverb

Effects Loop
ISP Decimator II > Ernie Ball VP Jr. > Loop Switcher (Loop 1: MXR Analog Chorus, Loop 2: MXR Carbon Copy Delay, Loop 3: Boss Giga Delay[w/ FS-5U to Switch presets], Loop 4: TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 Reverb)

Obviously something this big would be a huge pain in the ass to transport so I'm probably gonna make an abbreviated version of it one of these days.

I already showed off my bass collection (although that has grown since then), but now it’s time to show off my drumset.

r

I have a bit more that I would like to add to it, but this is a good start for now.

*Custom Pedalboard*

Obviously something this big would be a huge pain in the ass to transport so I'm probably gonna make an abbreviated version of it one of these days.

Some nice gear you have there!

Here's my own board, which I don't think I ever posted here before, and in its current size is already a pain in the ass to haul around. Not pictured is my Volume pedal, which I place at the left side of the board. Between this and the amp, I have a multicable consisting of 4 mono and 1 stereo jacks. It's been my preferred setup for years, although I used to have a smaller board once..

The setup is quite complicated, but I'll try to make it clear.. The Boss NS-2 acts as some sort of hub, containig both the amp, effects and the loop..

GUITAR -> TC Polytune -> EHX Small Stone (Phaser) -> Boss NS2 Input

Boss NS2 Send -> Way Huge Green Rhino (Overdrive) -> Ibanez TS9DX (2x Tubescreamer) -> DOD Carcosa (Fuzz) -> Dunlop CryBaby Wah -> AMP INPUT

AMP FX SEND -> EHX LPB1 (Solo Boost) -> Boss NS2 Return
Boss S2 Output -> MXR Carbon Copy (Delay) -> Volume Pedal (not depicted) -> AMP FX RETURN

The two pedals in the lower left corner are channel switchers for a Mesa/Boogie Mk. III (made by now defunct Voodoo Labs) and a custom switch for an ENGL Fireball 60 to switch both channels at once (the original Z-4 switch I own as well is a) way too big and b) requires you to step on two switches at the same time, which is stupid. I modified that one as well, but point a still stands - this is way more compact for normal use).

Sorry for the crappy quality:

My first guitars (1990-1991):

JP7 is in Drop Ab, JP15-7 is in standard.

Also, different pickups, and JP15 has the 20db boost and push-pull coil split. The JP15 also plays a bit better, I'd say.

Guitar collection:
Electrics are Schecters, a Hellraiser on the left, C-1+ on the right (and strangely enough, my favorite of the two).
Acoustics are an Ibanez AEG20II and a Dean AK48 F, the second of which is my wife’s that she’s had since I’ve known her.

Effects are through a Zoom G3 multieffects pedal which is adequate for me. I don’t gig, and playing guitar is purely for my own bedroom warrior enjoyment.

Trying to get back into the habit of playing so I'm taking my guitars one at a time to a local luthier to get them back into playing shape. First off, the Schecter. I absolutely love this guitar, bought it used for $500 (including shipping and a hardshell case) about 15 years ago and with a proper setup this thing plays like a dream.

The inlay work on that fretboard is amazing. Very Opeth-esque. The gold hardware also gives it a unique look. And I second Schecters playing very well

Newest addition to the collection. Bought an LTD FR-200, and then replaced the stock pickups with my EMG's to turn it into an FR-400.

Got my other guitar back from the shop this week, had them make a pickguard swap I've been wanting to do since I got this guitar like 15 years ago. Bought MIM Fender Double Fat Strat used in a since-closed local shop when the wiring on my entry level Ibanez started to go. I like it, definitely feels a little different than the Schecter, but if I had known I was going to get the Schecter like a year later I would have gone with a Tele that was a close runner up when I was choosing a replacement for the Ibanez. At the time though I wanted to stick with humbuckers.

Anyway, before (black pickguard):

After (tortoise shell pickguard):
