At the time of buying the JP, I had a few other guitars with piezo, a parker fly deluxe for one. Honestly I didn't use the piezo very much at all,  so decided to go without.

New year, new gear!

After being so happy with my AKG C 414 XLS I wanted to upgrade the gear for my live vocals too.
It's an AKG D7 S replacing my old trusty Shure SM 58. I already got it in November.
More punch, more clarity, better with my bass vocals.

A Two Notes Torpedo Studio on January 4th for finally being able to seriously record a cranked tube amp.
Without an isolated room, a collection of cabs, a special microphone for each speaker and tone combination.
And without decades of experience with all that stuff.

Plus an AKG K271 MK II a few days later for monitoring/recording/tracking.
And all those little details I couldn't hear otherwise.

So it's back to saving mode. I don't really need anything else right now.
But who knows what I'll find tomorrow...

Greetings...
Nef

I think I haven't posten in this thread for a while. Here's my latest setup:

Clavia NordStage
Korg R3
Korg Minilogue
Korg MS20Mini
iRig Keys with Sample Tank on my iPad
Roll Seaboard Rise with Macbook Pro

All of that goes into my ART rack mixer (that's not in a rack, but did exactly what I wanted it to do), with a separate channel to my own Mackie monitor.

I'm useless with keys but seeing Nihil-Morari's post makes me wanna get a stage piano, dammit!

I was very lucky and found someone selling an almost ideal amp case & rack combination for my stuff and now, after a few adjustments this afternoon... here's my new compact portable setup (FX will also move to the rack soon but that unit won't light up so it will look pretty much the same):

Here's my Kronos 2 88.

I also have an Alesis Fusion 8 HD. I started a custom paint job a few years ago and never finished it.

I have so many soft-synths, it's nuts. I use Omnisphere more than any of them.

Love the custom paint! Been thinking about doing that to my nord stage too. But I'm afraid of the depreciation.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'd definitely hesitate to do something with a Nord Stage. The Fusion, on the other hand, has done a find job of depreciating on its own...which is a shame because it's an awesome 'board.

Aw, Alesis Fusion 8HD. I used to own one like 6 years ago but I sold it to buy a Roland Fantom G8 (which I still own).

I also recently bought a Korg Kronos 2 88. Great board, will be my main unit live.

And I'm also an avid collector of soft-synths, I love them! But Omnisphere is the best them hands down. I'm in process of sampling many of my amazing Omnisphere sounds to use live within the Kronos. For quite some time I played live with my MacBook Pro, an Arturia Keylab 88 and lots of soft synths within Mainstage, but I just had to go back to hardware live because I had a big gig and my whole Mainstage setup crashed down, and it took me like 20 minutes to get everything running again. Nothing like the good ole' trusty big keyboard.

Oh man, the horror. I even stopped working with presets. The first couple of years I played in my current band, I programmed the entire setlist in my NordStage, I just had to click and everything was the way it should be. But after a couple of months I grew really tired of hearing the same exact sounds week after week. In my current setup most is done live. The MS20 and MiniLogue are very cool for that, every show sounds different.

That's where the Kronos works wonders. The Setlist Mode was one of the big reasons I spent big bucks in buying the keyboard.

It's basically the flexibility of a software based solution like Mainstage inside the reliability of a hardware keyboard.

How's the MiniLogue working for you? I saw one the other day and I was pretty interested!

The Minilogue is awesome. Haven't used it live yet, still finding my way around it, so it hasn't had it's big test.
For me it replaces the R3, that I've owned for about three years now, but the minilogue could replace something like the microkorg too. The worst thing about those kind of synths is the fact that if you want to change anything to your sound live, you have to get intro the menu, try to find the parameter you want to change, and then you could alter it. The minilogue has a lot of buttons that are always waiting to be fiddled with. I love the fact that you have presets, but you can just start with nothing and later save that. It's a great machine, especially for 700 euros. Couple of drawbacks though: no sustain pedal input, and little keys, but both are apparently easily solved by playing it through a midi keyboard.

Oh and I love the fact that you can actually see the waveform as you modulate it.

I'm planning in getting one to play in my live rig and play it through the Kronos. I heard some demos on youtube the other day and was very impressed.

Sweet, more Kronos users! Also, glad to hear there's some love for the Fusion.

Have you checked out Omnisphere 2 yet?

Yeah, Omnisphere 2 is pretty much the best soft-synth out there! I use it in practically all my tracks.

I know it's very unlikely, but a hardware synth version of Omnisphere 2 would be nice! One with the sound and power of Omnisphere married with the versatility of a hardware instrument, with lots of on-board controls and seamless sound switching. *Drools*

And I remember loving my Fusion. It was really the best on its class (price included), and the 80 GB drive was really something. I really wanted to keep it, but I couldn't afford having two big keyboards back then (and I was practically sold on the Fantom G8). I remember that some of the Hollow Sun sounds were super cool.

It is an Ovation DJA34-AL model in the 'Demented' series. Nice acoustic, but I'm actually trying to sell it and buy something a little closer to a classical guitar.

The papers on the wall are my scales (shown on a fretboard) and scale/mode patterns.

Okay, so here's a little bit of the Marshall.  It's a 1978 JMP 2204.  50W.  1 channel. Just got it out of the shop with new power tubes, new input jack shielding, and 5 of 6 pots replaced.

Problem I always had was when cranking the preamp knob, I could never get a good clean tone.  So I started doing the reverse.  Cranking the master volume, then using the preamp volume for level control.  This has a low and high sensitivity input.  I always use the low.  At the beginning, I show what the natural preamp distortion sounds like in the low and high sensitivity inputs, then go back to low sensitivity and use my pedal setup for cleans and distortion.  The phaser pedal, which I didn't use here, was an off-name brand purchased by my brother-in-law, when he was stationed in South Korea.

This video does not even begin to do justice to how damn good this amp sounds.  Also, sorry for the rush job, we're getting ready to head out to see Megadeth at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem.

Nice Boogie you have there. Is it a Mark V? I can't realy tell the difference, except that the setup on the front-panel looks like a modernised version of the Mark III.
