I've got a Dean VMNT Dave Mustaine Signature and an acoustic as well, but I've removed the pics =P

And since I also love folk rock, I've also got some Irish penny/Tin/whateveryouwannacallit whistles. Not only Irish music, which I love, but there's also a Russian band called Тролль Гнёт Ель (Troll Bends Fir in English) who has also influenced in my decision to start playing the Whistle.

These are my Feadóg whistles, one in the key of D and one in the key of C:

This is the Guzheng I have (which I should practice more). I may get round to pics of the basses and flutes at some point.

If you live near Hacienda Heights in California, there's a place there that has a load, it's where I order strings and finger picks from when mine snap (and maybe one day might order a shiny new one of those instruments, so I can have one in another tuning).

So here are my 2 main players:

The MIM strat is hands down my favorite guitar. Its incredibly comfortable to play and I love the sounds I can get out of it.
The Custom 22 SE PRS is pretty decent overall, but nowhere near as comfortable as the strat, for me at least. The humbuckers are great for heavier material though.

I'm very excited though, since tomorrow I will be picking up one of the Epiphone plus top Les Pauls. I fell in love with it when I was testing out guitars last week and I can't wait to pick it up:

And I will be trading in my Jackson Reverse Dinky, which I rarely ever play:

Since we're talking keyboard gear now, I bought myself a new toy in addition to this:

(Clavia Nordstage 88 and Korg R3)

This:

Korg MS20 mini, some sort of reissue of the classic analog.

Oh, it's so cute!  Like a mini-MiniMoog!

A friend of mine has a MultiMoog from like the 80's or whenever they came out.  I was at his house years ago, and he showed it to me, and since he never plays the thing, he asked me if I wanted it.  He doesn't even play keyboards, but bought it on a whim just because it was a Moog and looked cool.  It was collecting dust.  At the time, I wasn't playing, didn't even have a keyboard rig, so I declined.  What was I supposed to do with an analog synth?  I couldn't even just sit and play with it without an amp.  One of the stupidest things I've ever done.

Now that I'm playing again, I asked him recently if the offer was still open.  Nope.  His son is now older and is a pretty fine musician.  He wants it.  Shit.  I could've had a Moog.

Old moogs are great, pretty cool to have an 80's moog! A piano teacher I had, has had 8 different Fender Rhodes in his life. Bought them all for just a couple hundred bucks, restored them, and sold them for much more. If they were nice he used them himself, sometimes, especially if you know how things work you can come across really good, really cheap gear.
Though Korg and Moog are two totally different brands in the synth world. I'd love to have one of both eventually, the soft sub sound of the moog, and the harsh screaming sound of the korg.

I've never really thought about it, but that's a pretty concise way to sum it up.

Yeah, I love how, like in guitar-brands, every synth brand does have it's own sound. I wouldn't seem that way, you just have some oscillators, some filters, and then every analog synth should sound the same, but they don't. I really like that.

Thanks! I agree, the Mark V can do pretty much everything you'll ever need and then some more. And Parkers are just great, I started with a tangerine (metallic orange) Deluxe and then decided to go custom. And it won't be the last one, saving for another idea, will be some time though. With that setup pretty much all G.A.S. is gone, there simply isn't any combination that would sound or feel better for me and my taste. The last thing on my list is a decent recording microphone, I see an AKG C414 in my future. That will set back my saving for another custom, but I want one.

I have a Boss GT-8 but ever since I stopped using it as a preamp with an old solid state amp and switched to a tube amp (a Genz Benz El Diablo 100 before I got the Mark V) I hardly use it at all.

Still it's great as backup and for those occasions when bringing a big amp just isn't practical. It's able to replace the whole setup in one little box and still sound pretty decent and full. But only if you take the time for some major tweaking and programming of course.

Then again I don't gig at all currently. With a band or project the GT-8 would probably have a comeback and add its magic to the Boogie.

I see... nice! Had a GT8 myself. Twice even... for exactly those practical reasons that you have mentioned! And i've been surprised how "not too shabby" it sounded on the recording of the show compared to my MarkV-Rig. Good tool it is!

Not gigging at all sucks though, mate... hope you'll find a decent band again soon and take the boogie on the road!  :tup

That's a cool take on the JP Ibanez - I like them and like Ibanez period.

I posted this in another thread but my favourite playing guitar was always this........

I suppose I should post something else from the "vaults" ............VH diehards will know what that is.

Nice, I love the simplicity of the early EVH guitars. My next guitar is probably going to be a warmoth one with 1 pickup, volume knob, trem, massive stainless steel frets on a maple neck, just simple but infinitely playable guitar. The antithesis of all the spec-sheet scoring that goes on with most modern instruments!
