It's a damn good album.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Gettysburg trilogy > most things Iced Earth has done.

Not really. Once again, has some cool moments, but over all it's by far the most overrated Iced Earth song(s) ever. It drags on and on and on and on and 99% of the time, the orchestra adds nothing.

I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but it just seems like a super long song of some cool ideas but mostly not much.

He also wrote the lyrics to Dragon's Child. No one said he was Shakespeare. :neverusethis:

Dragon's Child rules :metal

The melody lines are awesome. And, I mean, it's a metal song about the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Its about as epic as its gonna get with that kind of restriction.

The chorus is cool and the intro is cool, but the verse is the same as most of the other verses on that album. Even though appearently I'm the only one who thinks most of the verses on that album are samey.

Seeing how all the contents minus the bonus disc have been previously released, I'd say its probably just a slip case of some sort.

Pretty sure it's Framing Armagedon, Crucible of Man and the re-recordings both Ripper and Barlow did of each others songs that were already released. It might also have anti-government leaflet thrown in there, dunno.

Overture of the Wicked, Framing Armageddon, I Walk Among You, The Crucible Of Man and a bonus disc. Even the bonus disc has nothing new on it.

It really is an obvious cash grab, I actually saw a copy in store today and it really didn't look anything special, just a crappy foldout looking box, nothing really nice about it.  Trust Schaffer to try and screw us again.

I think it's a cash grab on SPV's part, not Jon's.

But Jon is supportive of the release. He has mentioned it in past interviews, in reference to him putting it together. Whenever Century Media put out shit he didn't approve of, he voiced himself to the public about it.

I gained a crap ton of respect for Jon when he spoke out against the Live in Athens DvD. Granted I bought it anyway, and I'm glad I did, it was awesome to see him publicly tell his fans not to buy the DVD.

Don't get too excited. It's like 3 shows including the 2008 Graspop FM broadcast. 2 Barlow gigs and Ripper's Wacken gig. All with basically the same set list. I think theres some extras thrown in like backstage stuff.

Oh, so it's like a Chaos in Motion for Iced Earth? Why can't they put on a DVD show? One with huge production and a super long set list. Or just do what they did for Athens, 3 or so nights in one city, changing set lists and so forth. I'd cum buckets of angels piss.

 :lol

I enjoy Iced Earth humor.

I settled on buying concert DVDs a while back...actually, DVDs in general, as my collection is just getting too big and never get around to watching enough of them. The last concert DVD I got was the Exodus Shovel Headed Tour Machine one, which is a fucking awesome set. Although I'm not in full gung ho Iced Earth mode, depending on the price, I may grab this. I have the Alive in Athens disc, as well as the Gettsyburg one and a few bootleg shows. But like I've expressed, my interest has waned with these guys. I'd be getting it mostly for Tim's appearance...although I have no idea if he'd be getting any cut of the profits.

I picked it up this weekend (only had The Crucible of Man, so I figured why not).

The previously-released CDs all are in their original CD packaging. The bonus disc is in a slipcase. There also is a small poster and a booklet the size of a standard CD book that expains the Something Wicked concept. Not having four of the five CDs, was it worth it? Probably paid a bit more than I should have ($30) but it quickly filled in a few holes of the many, many holes in my Iced Earth collection. Can't wait to see them again in September...
