Outcry is very obviously a rewrite of Metropolis Pt 1, but it is such a powerful song with such strong emotional pull and it comes together in a way that kind of eclipses the latter.
One of my favorite poetics from DT is in this song:
"The streets are bathed in blood
Time to step down
and time to walk away
You'll never rule me now
Though you may stand upon my grave"
As I wrote over on a thread about ADTOE just before, Outcry would still be one of their best songs without the instrumental section, which is cream on the cake and really carries a lot of weight thematically given the subject matter.
