This feels like just about every new metal band I check out. Starts out kind of melodic, then the obligatory harsh vocals hit mid-song.

They've certainly become much more common, but it varies by subgenre.  Still tons of bands that never or rarely use them around.

Couple of times. I should give it another try. Every time I hear this band I’m thinking to myself damn this sounds good I should be liking this but yet the melodies dont make me feel anything. I’ve tryied Blackwater Park and Still Life at least 7-8 times each.

Anyway, I’ll give damnation a spin this weekend:)

Opeth are okay but at this point I only remember one song by them, but I fucking love that song.
I've seen them live, too. Great live band even if I didn't gel with everything they did or know their stuff.
