8. Pink Floyd - Wish you were here

I seriously thought I was the only person in the world with this take. It's a nice song, I think it drags a bit at the end, but it is not offensive. Yet I still rank it pretty high on the all-time classic rock overrated list.

I agree. It’s one I don’t really need to hear again. Used to kind of dig it, but it’s really pretty dull. Kind of feel that way about most PF.

I was familiar with WTSGMI since I was very little (mid 70's) because my parents had it on record. So when I listened to TNOTB for the very first time I couldn't tolerate it. I thought: is this a joke? Hate it from day one. And every time I go to an IM concert they play the damned song like it's mandatory or something. If it wasn't for the (I admit) great spoken intro, I'm sure they'd retired that tune a long time ago.

Politely, NO.   I saw the Legacy tour in Hartford CT (there's an HD shot of the entire show, on YooToob, if you're interested; the guy was about 20 feet to my right and about 10 feet behind me) and the place EXPLODED - literally and figuratively - during that song.  The whole show was fantastic, but the energy took a new level during that song.  The place was bathed in orange light, and the crowd was at another level.  You could feel the place - a pavilion - shaking during that song.

Oh, and don't sleep on the scream; Bruce still does a credible job reproducing that scream night after night. I've seen it something like 7 or 8 times in person, and every time it's a ball grabber.

Well... I have a lisergic theory about that euphoria. You see, Hartford CT is home of Colt Firearms, and one of their most famous guns is the Single Action Army, also known as Peacemaker, Frontier or Six shooter. SIX... Six,six...  ;)

Good call with "Fire In The Sky"; that's probably my favorite song on the record.

I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.
