I liked the Bio as well. Fresh and nicely written. I do think some people will take the comment about MP being the unofficial spokesperson and twist it into negativity

It has a MESSAGE BOARD! Wut?

And it has 2 posts already!

Site looks good (except for all those twitter/facebook icons and such). They probably don't need an archive of all the news items though, like "The new CD is finished" dated August 03, 1997.

"Metropolis Part II isn't on the list because it wasn't finished yet. Rumour has it that Metropolis part II (which is currently about 25 minutes long) will be released as an EP with additional live tracks, in the middle of 1998."

Interesting...

I have no problem with that as it provides an interesting look at how some things may have been different.

For those having difficultly with the site, try using IE.  For some reason, it is acting goofy on my when I use Chrome, but it seems to work just fine with IE.

tri.ad

I quite like how the official website turned out. It's much, much better than the previous layout (which, granted, wasn't very hard at all) and it received the major face lift it needed.

Not sure about the official message board, though...

This didn't work either  :(. From the screenshots the website does look pretty cool!

Just made another thread, but Bosk told me to post it here...

So, will everyone be changing forums now that there's one on DT.net?

https://www.dreamtheater.net/categories

I see Bosk has already been a little bi-forum-curious.

But anyway, I kind of just rather stay here on DTF, but if everyone is just gonna leave for the other forum, can you let me know or something? I don't want to be posting on a ghost-town forum if everyone leaves here lol.

Chino

I got on the new site in a lab at school. How the hell do I register for the board?

*edit*

found it.

WHO THE FUCK USED Chino AS THE USER NAME?

black_biff_stadler

As long as bosk keeps running this site it'll be fine. Most of us that come here do so more because we like one another and the vibe of the community than our fandom of DT. Comparing the volume of posts in General Discussion versus the volume of posts in the Dream Theater subforum will confirm this. I ain't goin nowhere :yarr

Mebert78

No, I wouldn't leave for this forum for the new one.  I mean, I don't know all the history of this forum, but DT did remove their forum previously so it's always a possibility that could happen again unexpectedly for whatever reason.  You never know.  Plus, I think it's nice to have a home for the fans, by the fans.  I might pop in occsionally on the new DT forum just to see if there's any interesting chatter though, but I don't expect to post there.

Don't see why anyone would change or leave forums. I might register on the DT.net forum, and look there. If I consistently end up looking there and finding stuff that's interesting and makes me want to post or visit more, while look here and find nothing interesting that'd make me want to post or visit more, then I'll end up "switching" to DT.net forum. Same as any other forum. I don't see the point in deliberately choosing to stop coming on one forum just because you go on another. I can open up more than one site.

jsem

I still can't open the site. Cleared cache, tried IE - everything...

I noticed one member's name is alphaChino. I wonder if there is a bug somewhere...

blackngold29

The design looks good, but pages only work half the time (with Chrome).

Did not, however, appreciate that I clicked 'would like updates from DT' but didn't click 'updates from RR' and got an email two seconds later from Lenny Kravitz... whoever that is.

Dream Team

I'll play it by ear, and see which forum has the most activity/interesting discussion. Hopefully the official forum will stay open this time and just quickly ban the jerks.

Chino

Everyone put DTF at the end of their name!

jeebustrain

interesting - looks like Itchy's not doing it anymore (according to the link at the bottom).

we should all go back to EZBoard!

Gorille85

Why would I leave this forum? I stay here for GMD and the members anyways.

black_biff_stadler

Anyone who wants to avoid the Lenny Kravitz mailing list can simply click the "unsubscribe" link near the bottom left corner of the email

Yeah, it's pretty glitchy as of now but at least we can use this thread in the meantime as a glitch-free environment to update each other as we find ways around the bugs.

ReaperKK

what's the direct link to the forum over there?

Super Dude

I'm staying here. DTF is the best them.

I tried clicking the direct link, which I found via google - but it directed me to the homepage that was the old page...

I'm getting enraged.

This.

can't get on the new site anymore! :P

blackngold29

Would've done the DTF thing if I had seen it before registering.

If the community grows I will spend more time there than on Rudess or Petrucci's forums (which is like none), but I doubt I will ever leave this place.

make an alternate email and re-register

Kinda weird seeing bosk with a lowly "member" below his name.
