I don't think so. The Iron Maiden forum I go to has that option and there aren't any problems with it.

I can be ok as long as shenanigans are dealt with quickly...but that ability, combined with troublemakers who have a chip on their shoulders about forum history and aren't being reigned in, well...

Anyway, I registered and made a couple of posts.  It's not blocked by websense, so I'll spend at least a little time there.

Anybody else having troubles accessing the settings tab on the site? cuz it wont let me edit anything

BlobVanDam

The new site theme looks only marginally better than the old one. And that forum is weird. It shows like 2 posts per page.

And if people from sites like here and the other connected sites are the ones posting there, why would I bother when I have DTF already? This place is run well. That place won't be able to handle it.

Zydar

Alright, I registered at the forum. But I'll never leave DTF.

I just registered. Anyone else coming? And by this I still will obviously be a regular here (sorry, only penicillin in large doses can get rid of me.)

Registered too and will still be a regular here.

I still see the old website... How come that many in my country already see the new version and I still don't?  :(

jsem

I had the new version, I registered - then when I tried to verify it went back to the old site..

JayOctavarium

i finally have the new site... after jerking around there for a while.... I have decided I like it better here :)

obscure

I think it looks really good... I like the darker tones they used...

There's a good reason for that.

Wow! I posted this right before I went to bed last night and have been working all day so it took on a life of it's own in the mean time (I didn't read all six pages).

I didn't see the forum on the new site when I started this thread. I'm sure I'll register but can't see myself "moving" over there. Even though I'm a new member here and haven't posted much I've been visiting for years so this still feels like home to me.

Super Dude

Nope, still the old site for me.

No.  "SeRoX" is SeRoX.  "bosk1's mother" is Nate.  He uses the same name at 5/8.

HOW COME YOU DIDN'T TELL ME

banning him now

QFT.

Back in the day, when the official forums went down and people were trying to organize this one, I never joined because I didn't think anyone would migrate here. Now that the official forum is back, I don't want to go back.  :lol

Plus the old one that itchy moderated had a much better layout. The new one sucks.

I just joined and I'm member no. 173,811  :o

This morning before I left for work I still could not see the new layout. But at work I can see it (We use a different ISP at work so I am assuming that is why I can see it) I am leaving work soon so I hope it will be up when I get home.

It looks like they bumped the member numbers:

5 - jerrod
10 - mikey
11 - Jeremy Rosen
11051 - Roadrunner
63503 - Wilde Silas
69258 - --Heff--
84251 - ytsejam
163363 - HereticΦ
164200 - fb_adrian_sandberg
172578 - Mark Bredius

It looks like they went public at 173534 and from there on it's stable, so they've got like 300 members

I believe it's the forum database is part of a larger database for all the RoadRunner forums, which is why the user numbers are so large.  There is already a huge user base that isn't necessarily part of the DT forums that are in the database.  That new forum at DT.net is technically not even run by the band.  It is being run by RoadRunner.

...So that explains why, 5 minutes after registering at DT.net, I was automatically added to Roadrunner's Lenny Kravitz mailing list, right?

bosk1

It also explains a lot of other things I won't get into.

Maybe it's just my careful nature, but that seems like a recipe for disaster

Dublagent66

Whoever runs it, it still looks awesome and 1000% better than it did.  Time to step up the pace around here and I'm sure Bosk is quite capable.

They're still working out the kinks. So far the folks running it seem like decent people who are open to suggestions as to how the place can be better run. I think the best thing to do is go over there and politely and reasonably voice your opinion(s) on how the place can be made easier to use and more functional in general since I'd imagine they would be more open to changing things now than they would be later on once they've settled on the majority of the features/aspects of it all.

The site looks awesome, great background images and stuff. The forum? Not so much
