Dream Theater on Thursday and United - Liverpool on Saturday. Now that's an unforgettable couple of days.

Are they doing something special for this tour? All seated and over £100 for 2 tickets! Thats about £20 per ticket more than when I last saw DT in Manchester.
Cant wait though! Dream Theater then Rammstein within a few weeks of eachother! woo hoo

Jesus, what's with the hugely inflated ticket price?  :omg:

I'll still be there, they may have to wait a while for me to buy a ticket though. It's a lot of money to just drop.

It is more expensive, but from memory weren't they close to £40 last time? I don't think they were £30.
Also the £50 includes ticketmaster's fee, which is £5

But yeh, I'll be there. Got my tickets on Wednesday through O2 priority. They've reserved a bunch of single seats upstairs for the meet & greet packages, so gotta sit 1 in from the rail. Still love those seats though

Just looked at my last DT Manchester Apollo ticket stub and it was £24 and £4 service charge on the Systematic Chaos tour.
I know there is a support band, but they may be doing a lengthy almost evening with set who knows? Maybe thats why its more expensive and why they are doing all seats for a 3 hour+ set... wishful thinking I guess! They may even play the entire new album? Will have to wait and see.

Apparently the huge rise in ticket price is due to the videos that will be playing behind them. I can't find a source at the moment for this though...

That would be awesome, but I'm thinking not likely at all

I'm going! Second time seeing DT and second time at the Apollo (PN09 1st).

The layout looks all seating but the last time was seating and standing. I just got the cheaper tickets this time around but got them via O2 Priority, so I got the best worst ones!

Anyone know what time doors and curfew is? I think it is 7 doors and 11 curfew?

Plus, anyone from the area know if any taxis wait outside cause I'm looking at getting the last coach home which is at 11.59 and so I would need to get a taxi.

Hoping for a much longer set than the progressive nation tour this time.

The cheap seats aren't that bad at the Apollo, although all seats are normally the same price. And it's normally standing in the stalls yeh.
11pm curfew, the doors time varies though, so you'll need to check nearer the time

Yeah I'm hoping for a longer set list too! My assumptions for the nights times are...

7:00 - Doors
7:30 - Periphery
8:15 - Interval
8:30 - Dream Theater
11:00 - Curfew

I'll be there. As long as the snow stays away!
12 rows back, centre. Seen DT here 4-5 times I think. At previous shows I was in the first couple of row, except the last time when it was all standing downstairs and I stood by the mixing desk.

Tell me about it. I remember getting a last minute ticket from eBay for the DSOTM show at Hammersmith - it cost me less than my ticket for Wembley this year.

Me and my son are in the rear stalls. Actually got the tickets at £32.50 each without having to pay booking fee or postage just by writing to the Apollo Box Office. Great service. Shame that there's a support band. The set list is predominantly the new album with none of my favourite 20 minute epic numbers. Hopefully next time...

I used to be stuck like that and it is a bastard. I was reliant on convincing friends to go to the gig. I learned to drive a couple of yeears ao and now I don't have to worry. Unless it snows!

The advantage of seats is that it gives me a bit more space in front for my air drums! The promoter is the one who sets the ticket prices, based on how popular he feels the band is, and what he can squeeze out of Joe Public. Less than 48 hours now...

epic band performance. Selist B.   One slight disappointment: was James auto tuned or was it just me?
Will post more tomorrow on the coach home!

EDIT: Having watched a few vids and hearing the bootleg, it was definitely my seat/the venue. James sounds better than I thought. Makes me appreciate it more now.

Great show!  I was wondering what that keytar was doing on stage in Glasgow but it was because it was for DEN which wasplayed in Manchester but not Glasgow.

The sound was good but not amazing.  The crowd added so much energy!  Now if only I could understandthese Manchester folk when they speak!  :)

For starters id like to thank the wanker car park attendent for being really out of order to my wife and putting her in a foul mood which then got me in a bad mood and putting us on a downer from the beginning! The guy sitting in row G seat 39 really needs to shower before leaving the house as my wife was nearly sick when he sat down next to her.
Didnt like Periphery, not my bag each member of the band all sounded like they where playing a different song from each other and the almost choreographed headbanging was lame although pretty hilarious to watch.
I dunno if it was the fact that it was a seating gig or what but there was no atmosphere. I was a few rows from the front by John Myung and the sound was pants, and obviously we couldnt walk round to find a better place to stand to get a better sound. Couldnt hear or even feel any Myung frequencies, couldnt hear much JP apart from a few solos, James sounded really echoey, Jordan I could hear perfectly and the drums sounded ok.
Dont like the new album but thought hearing the stuff live would bring an extra dimension, but it still sounded a bit sterile and boring, and as they played quite a few off the new album I found myself getting a bit bored, even my wife thought the new songs stood out like a sore thumb and thought they where bland sounding.
I loved the couple of parts off 6 degrees, spirit, wait for sleep and as i am, but found very little to get excited about tonight (my fifth time of seeing them).
When i saw them in Leeds with Mangini I was excited and amazed, but tonight I really missed Portnoy... tonight they seemed like they are just going through the motions and lack a big personality on stage and the whole thing plodded along, to me they already look bored of playing basically the same set every night with a few changes. Mangini is amazing, but drum solos still bore me and Jordan should quit with that keytar thing and the continuum already.
All that being said they are still my favourite band and I adore all the stuff before A dramatic turn of events.... I havent given up on them yet, but am slightly dissapointed that i didnt leave a DT show mesmerized like i usually do, tonight i just left feeling...meh.
And also tonight I realised I would do almost anything to hear Metropolis part 2 or 6 degrees in its entirety!
