I've seen on some setlist sites that DT have been doing half normal and half acoustic sets?!?!?

Not half and half, out of the ~15 songs that they play, ~2/3 are acoustic.

Ah I see.. actually thinking about it.. I think its just the way the setlists are laid out on setlist.fm, I think the word "acoustic" is signalling that the silent man is acoustic... but they way it looks is as if the whole 2nd half of the show is acoustic!

So two days away then. Apart from being the first time seeing DT this is actually (embarassingly) my third time going to Landaaaan.

I'm heading up at about 12 to make a half day of it, grabbing some munch then cruising over to have my face well and truly melted. Going with three others too so should be overall a fantastic day.

I'm in Block A2 but like row 11 and the seats are right in the middle of the block. Worried that the view might not be much despite it being all seated...

Indeed only 119 seats left available. That is of course providing that they havent curtained off the very back blocks (The E blocks etc). Hope the people of Wembley are up for it Friday I certainly will be  :metal

Seems like we're getting Setlist A now, mixed feelings in a way. Was looking forward to TDEN but TROAE is a better song altogether. Totally glad with BTS and TSM instead of WFS and FFH. My main gripe is swapping As I Am with Pull Me Under. I find PMU so annoying and overplayed. I know its their signature tune but hopefully we become sneaky 'C' setlistwith a Metropolis encore.

Personally, I'm delighted that we SHOULD get setlist A.

I've seen As I Am so many times, but never Pull Me Under (pretty incredible considering I've been to 13 shows, though I have seen it as part of the Pull Me Under/Metropolis medley). And I'd love to see TROAE again, I remember that being excellent live.

From the JR noisecreep interview (https://www.noisecreep.com/2012/02/09/dream-theater-grammy/):

Quote
Rudess added that the European shows have been off the chart, in particular, a recent performance in Paris. "I have to say, of all the shows I have played in this band, that Paris gig the other night was off the chart. The crowd, the band – it just could not have been any better."

Are we gonna stand by and let this happen? Or are we gonna RAAAAAAAAAAAWK?!?  :metal

I'm sitting at work watching the snow.

Is it better to get to the station this afternoon to find that there are no trains to London and I miss the show, or is it better to get to the show and find that there are no trains and I can't get home? I'm too old to spend the night sleeping rough outside King's Cross!

Where I am in London the snow never really settled, you should be alright getting into London, it just depends if it's going to snow tonight during the gig.

I'm here now, just waiting for Periphery to start. The very back is curtained off but most of the ground level seating is already pretty full. Rock'n'roll!

Sorry. :p

Lifting shadows of a dream collapsing.
Bridges in the sky
6:00
Build me up, Break me down
Surrounded
The root of all Evil
Drum Solo
Fortune in lies
Outcry
The silent man
Beneath the surface
On the backs of angels
War inside my head
Test that stumped them all
Spirit carries on
Breaking all illusions

Pull me under

On the road home. Periphery were better than I thought they would be. Couldnt understand the singer though, going in with no prior knowledge of their songs. Also I'm pretty sure during their last song the singer said "Alright London its time to sit down as best you can", mocking the crowds unwillingness to give any feedback.

What can be said about DT? Everthing clicked tonight, they were well up for it, and luckily so were the crowd thank god.

Mike Mangini just makes the whole band happy, the drum solo was unbelievable.

A lot of people were filming, some guy in front of me even had a videolink to his girlfriend going on during ROAE.

10/10 mental night!

I was there. I was there. ;W;

A3, row 3. Or something. I know I was right up front, and John Petrucci was right there in front of me. Oh my god, it was such a dreamlike experience.

That was one hell of a show. The moment "The Test that Stumped Them All" started playing, I wanted to pass out from sheer joy. I love this band.

WOW!
I'm so glad I avoided setlist spoilers! 6:00!!! I'd never have predicted that! Surrounded! The Silent Man! The Spirit Carries On! Pull Me Under! A Fortune in Motherf*cking Lies! I nearly came in my pants. JP's solo on Breaking All Illusions was simply sublime - highlight of the show.

The band were on top form and yet again The Man Genie was man of the match - they just seem so re-invigorated! The sound mix was about as good as it gets for Wembley - for once I could make out every note.

But the big elephant in the room is the fact the venue was less than half full. Yes, the rear section was curtained off again, but the upper tiers were empty too. I can't see their UK promoter booking Wembley again - I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in a Hammersmith sized venue next time round, which would be a mixed blessing - on the one hand I'd rather see them in a smaller and more intimate venue, but on the other the band have clearly invested quite a bit in the new staging and light show (loved it, btw) and that really does need a larger venue to shine. The all-seating was a mistake, especially for those of us in aisle seats. Do people really need to go to the bar/toilet every other song??? Much as I enjoyed myself, I'm glad I made the trip to Leeds last year.

And I bought a key-ring - £3! w00t!  :metal

And yes, the Periphery guy really couldn't sing, could he? And what was that bizzare Japanese version of "Black Dog" they played on the PA before the show? I've never laughed so much in my life!

Well I really struggled to hear the Periphery singer anyway but I thought when he sang (not screamed) he sounded a bit like Jared Leto from 30 seconds to mars.

Really hope DT come back sooner rather than later though, regardless of the above post about the upper tiers and back sections being empty, I think DT were impressed with the crowd.
