For those of you in the keeper/auction league:  I'm moving the draft to tomorrow night.  I forgot about that Thursday night game.  Yahoo should email you as well.
I can't seem to find what is the budget for the auction draft.

Ummmm...I thought it was already set for 9/7 6pm PDT?  Also, To echo Dimi, whats the budget?  Didn't see it on the settings page.  Did you set Passing TD's to 4 pts?  Or is that default?  Personally....  I think it should be 6.

4 is not only better, but pretty much the standard nowadays.

Budget is the default, and I think its 150.

TD's are 4 because QB's average just under 2 a game, where as the RB/WR with the most TDs in a season generally has less than 16, or one a game, so I'm sticking with 4, which is the default.  I left everything at default.

I do more 6 leagues than 4, that's what I'm used too.  I think 4 really devalues the QB and creates a RB league.  Which in turn makes it very difficult for a player that doesn't have a top tier RB to compete.  Where as in a 6 league, you can make it up with a top tier QB.  But it's DTVT's league... so 4 it is.

This is why the best leagues now are the ones with PPR, as that makes WRs and TEs just as important as RBs (especially if WRs and TEs are 1.0 PPR and RBs are 0.5 PPR).  Combined with QBs getting 4 points for TD passes, it makes it to where not one position is the dominant one.  Prior to PPR, it used to be that, yes, you had to have great RBs to win it, but not necessarily anymore.  Now, you have to have a well-rounded team.

How long was the auction draft?  What were the mechanics?

I don't know how long the auction lasted, I was only there for the first half hour. The six of us each had a $200 budget, and we took turns nominating a player for auction (a nomination also put you in as the first bidder for $1. Bids went up in minimum increments of $1, and every time there was a new high bid the countdown clock for that auction jumped back up to 10 seconds. I don't know how the autodraft was working for those of us not there.

How 'bout a sample payroll?  I'm curious how much people were spending.  Also,  what about free agents now?  Are they worth some predefined value, or are they just up for grabs?

Off the top of my head my order and cost....

RB    Chris Johnson (Ten - RB) -    $51
RB    Ray Rice (Bal - RB) -             $45
WR    Andre Johnson (Hou - WR)   $35
QB     Philip Rivers (SD - QB)          $27
WR    Brandon Lloyd (Den - WR)    $16
TE    Jimmy Graham (NO - TE)        $8
WR    Mike Wallace (Pit - WR)          $10
W/R/T    Dwayne Bowe (KC - WR)   $4
DEF    Philadelphia (Phi - DEF)          $2
K    Stephen Gostkowski (NE - K)    $2

then the remainder of $$$ for my bench players which were pretty much $1-2

It took 6 of us just over an hour to draft, with bosk being on autopilot the entire time, Dimi missing the first half and Axeman missing the second half.  I would suspect a 10 team auction to take just over 2 hours.  But its a fun two hours because you can always be in the action as long as you have cash.

Even though I miss the first half of the auction, it was a lot of fun!

Though I would've never wasted 22 on Greene and 18 on Forte!
