Are there any fans around here? If not, maybe I can convert a few :D

A short story: they're a band from Switzerland, which started from full-on black metal (and according to kvlt black methvl fans, trve Samael ended after their first album), and over time started experimenting with industrial/electronic ideas, resulting in a pretty interesting mix. The recent albums also have some significant oriental influences. It's mostly quite heavy, but also has a pretty unique atmosphere and some songs are definitely what I'd call monumental.

If you're not any familiar with them, three songs which I think are pretty good starting points:
Rain from the album Passage - this is one of the songs you could call a "classic". They probably play it on every concert. Sums up their "heavy but already a bit industrial" side quite well.
The Cross from the album Eternal (the actual song starts at 0:20, the other links on youtube are crap quality) - one of my favourites. Monumental.
In Gold We Trust from the new album, Lux Mundi. A bit faster song, with an INCREDIBLE chorus.

If you don't know them yet, I hope you'll enjoy. :)
