" Silent Migraine "
« on: September 05, 2011, 07:13:55 PM »
:o Anyone else ever experience this ?

Having distorted vision, the shiny zig zag lines in your field of vision with gradually fades out...Being unable to understand English for a short time..etc etc .. but with no headache, just the aching arm and nausea.

Very very scary the first time.  :(

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - at the time I was also having insomnia, terrible nightmares, sleep paralysis. Oh The Joy.

Much better now though.

effing lord above I hate these..

I'll be absolutely fine and dandy, then BAM! fuzzy, zigzag lines in my field of vision.
It grows and gets distorted, and 20-30 minutes later, it's gone.

But that's when the massive, completely obliterating wall of mind-pain begins. Cue complete bodily shut-down for 3 hours or so.

I suppose i'm kinda "lucky"  :-\ that I never had the headaches. I had everything else though. The cracked vision, the blinding light, the zig-zag, the nausea and bodily ache etc.

It only lasted a few weeks. Thankfully hasn't happened for about 2 years.

But not being able to understand English was bloody unsettling.  :'(

I had one during my Freshman year in Highschool. I was in English class trying to do my work when my arm started hurting, and I asked to go to the nurse. When I walked out the building, I chunked it and she told me I had a migrane and to just lay down....I slept it till 4th which was before lunch.

Yes was very odd. :/ I remember looking at my phone and suddenly not being able to see properly. I looked in the mirror and it was as if i'd just been staring at a really bright light. The same sense of missing vision you get after that, except without the glare.

My gf in High School used to get these all the time, she would have the accompanying headache as well.

I've only every had the migraine headache and that used to happen very frequently but around 20 or so they started occurring less and less to the point where I'll only have 1 every couple months or so.

I started developing those a few years back, totally sucks. For me they're directly related to excessive monitor use.

When I had them I tried everything, less computer use, different diets and nothing ever helped. I just accepted it and it finally went away.

Yeah It's kinda odd that there's no cure for migraines. You can stop them with medication if you notice early enough but.. :/
