Apparently everyone missed the memo about "community pages." Basically anything that has a Wikipedia article (which, let's face it, what doesn't?) has a Facebook page as well. You can 'like' anything you want. Activities, movies (which can also be liked on IMDB), video games, books, whatever, it's all there. They're trying to take over the internet.

As for the "look" of the profile pages, I actually like the new one. I can see where having the option to opt out would be nice though.




And last but not least in the famous words of somebody I don't know who commented on the last redesign outrage: "If you don't like Facebook, you should ask for your money back."

Heh. Funny 'cause it's true. I've never nagged about the designs and such but when stuff I've set to "friends only" suddenly is viewable by everyone with out giving me any notice, I'm getting pissed off and bitchy :P

My biggest problem with the new profile stuff is not that it's all public now (I regularly dig into my Account/Privacy settings to see what they've changed recently without telling us); it's that those fields are no longer free form.  Everything must be linkable.  Under "Activities" I used to have "Playing music every chance I get".  I can enter "Playing music" and a little icon pops up.  But if I enter "Playing music every chance I get" the icon goes away, and when I save and look back at it, the entry was not accepted.  My favorite activity is invalid.  :(

Yes! I came to facebook, glanced at my own profile and saw...something's missing? Wut? Me being the wordy gal that I am had a lot of stuff just deleted and some parts actually made no sense any more! Tried to fix it, didn't stick (even "emerson; lake & palmer" got deleted from my fav. music!), poked around in my settings and saw holy crap, this has been defaulted to be viewable by everyone (everything else I've set to "only friends")

...that's when I got pissed and deleted everything there. :P

Although I'm not posting an actual status, I just want to rant.

It's a wonder how people's status(almost 70%) are ALWAYS about love, and they always get INFINITE likes and comments(I'm not jealous of that, of course). I mean, this guy posts a status like, "Why is it so hard to forget you?", and his friends(mostly female) comment how they agree with it, and like the post. Two days later, he posts a similar one, and the response from his friends is the same if not more. I mean, yes, we love, that's undeniable, but how repetitive, boring, and overused can this topic be? I'm not pissed, but it's kinda annoying. Love is mainstream.
