Mods, feel free to lock this if you wish if it seems unnecessary. I just wanted a place to actually discuss Opeth without having an overwhelming majority of the posts centering around an album I'm trying very hard to leave as an all-new experience when I buy it. Someone had suggested in the other thread that anything about the new album be posted in small font but it just isn't realistic to think people will all know to do that since you can't really fit a disclaimer like that in the thread title and also expect folks to remember to do it each time they make a post of that nature.

I just want this to be a safe haven for Opeth discussion about the other 90% of their discography.

I've been through several different phases - at first I thought Watershed was the best one, then Ghost Reveries and for the last months it's been Blackwater Park. I don't really see that changing since I love every single song in BWP while I think the other albums have a couple weaker moments. For me, BWP > Watershed > GR.

I'm still trying to get Still Life to click, I enjoy some songs but the album as a whole sounds somewhat "samey" to me, as soon as I finish listening to it I can't differentiate riffs or songs by memory.

There's a little language doubt I've had for quite a while with the title The Drapery Falls.

In the past I used to understand it as drapery is a sort of an adjective describing the falls (you know, as in a waterfall), so it's more of a "picturesque" title. Seemed to make sense as Opeth has always had plenty of poetic titles and lyrics, and it's a kind of image that definitely fits with the song for me.

Some day I realised though a much simpler way to read it is just "the curtain falls". Adding to that is I started to have doubts that "drapery" in English could even be used to describe something (Wiktionary only has this word as a noun).

I'm kinda confused now. Which version is correct? Or both? Did I come up with something weird?
