Definitely one of my favorites this year, Einar really reaches some new heights in a few tracks.

My overplaying of the album led me to re-listen to Bilateral recently as well and it is still just as phenomenal as it was during my first listen-through. Hope they return stylistically to that sound at some point, despite loving what they're currently doing nonetheless.

I've just really began listening to the album since two weeks, and it just keeps on giving. It's incredibly well-produced (possibly their best sounding record and simultaneously most interesting sonically), and the songs are all just really well-written. Only Foreigner might be a little undercooked.

I've been into everything from Bilateral to The Congregation, and while I thought Malina was interesting, it just didn't really grab me. Pitfalls seems like pure songcraft has been promoted to a top priority. It's not all that metal anymore per se, but it for damn sure has plenty of intensity. But then the closing track features one of the heaviest and coolest polyrhythms they've come up with in a while, alongside a particularly claustrophobic feel throughout.

And I just realized that this is the first Leprous album I truly remain interested in whilst listening from front to back. Stellar work this time around, and it could very well end up to be my no. 1 Leprous album. I definitely feel a more emotional connection to this album in comparison to some of my other favorites (Devin Townsend and Tool's new records).

How on earth have I missed this band!? I stumbled upon a live clip of Contanimate Me with Ihsahn and the wall of sound that hit me just floored me. That was quite the trip and Baard is an animal on drums. Will definitely check out them more.

That's really funny because Coal was my first Leprous album, and I absolutely love everything on that one... except Contaminate Me!

Leprous rules. I was just listening to a bit of Pitfalls yesterday and it's still my second favorite Leprous record, right behind Coal. They have such a unique sound and style. Already excited to hear what they do next.

Contaminate Me is... okay. Might be my least favorite song on Coal but I'm not really a fan of Foe either (probably an even hotter take :P)

Listen to Forced Entry. Now that's heavy Leprous at their best.

Some creative drumming by Baard on Coma. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kjr_jEQjKQ

The pattern he starts at 0:17 is interesting. Have to try that out.

Baard is inhuman. His creative choices and complete rhythmic autonomy allow him to come up with some of the most unique sounding drum parts.

I know there's opinions on Contanimate Me, I think though that the live version is a bit more alive and raw than the studio version. Might be why I enjoyed it alot. I love the part at 2:40 when the other drummer plays the snare figure along with Baard. The 3:05 is so brutal with Baards 16th notes on the doublepedal and the other drummer fills along and Ihsahns screams.  :metal

Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS continue to promote their newest and much acclaimed album “Pitfalls”, released last October worldwide via InsideOutMusic.

LEPROUS are now launching a special live video for the epic final song on the album, “The Sky Is Red”.

The clip created by João Filipe and Creative Productions was recorded on March 1st, 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal, coincidentally the last show of the latest European tour by LEPROUS, but also the very last regular live-show before the current general halt of live-activities.

Check out the clip here: https://youtu.be/_nN61nW1Ly0

Seeing The Sky is Red being played live was amazing. The first time I had no idea what to expect and the light-show overwhelmed me. The second time, I knew what was coming, but it was still awesome. The video doesn't replicate what it's like when you're there in the audience, so I suggest you go see them live whenever that's possible again :)

New single. It's one of those typical Leprous songs in recent times that starts minimalistic and gets louder, but not metal. Sounds decent.

EDIT: It's apparently recorded in one take.

I wish they had made this song before I saw them live at our local small venue.

Fantastic job at that atmosphere. I enjoy atmosphere and that hit that sweet spot. The vocals were angelic, and really had that desperation of being a castaway.

I don't know how they can be so proud of winning with them odds. - Little Big Man

Love Einars voice but sometimes its just too much up front. I get a bit tired from it by the time I am finishing listening to one of the last 2 albums. Not sure if that makes sense. Still Leprous  :metal
