Why do you people sound disapointed when you say "typical SX"? For us who likes SX, isn't that a good thing...? What exactly do you want them to do?

Yeah. I wouldn't want them to make a non-SX song. What would that be?

I never understand why people wants to hear in a band another style that is not the one that made the band succesfull.
I mean, I know a band, I like it and suddenly I want them to play another styles¿?
Well, that just means you are tired of the band, but then you can always hear another one. The style, is the style, and I don't want them to change it. Of course there's a wide range of songs inside one style, and I think SX always have variety and innovation.

Many people is just sick of listening too much metal, or pop or whataver and they try to find something existing just on their heads. The best thing in that case is just to go away and listen to another band to find what they need, imo.

It's true that many bands sounds almost the same in every album, but seriously I don't think SX is one of them.

I actually hear more Twilight in Olympus influence in this song. So it's definitely more diverse than PL right off the bat. But there are more songs we haven't heard yet, so who knows?

It is an OK song but nothing more, typical SX. I was hoping for something more different, hopefully the other songs on the album are better.

Dehumanized. Not sure if it's better than End Of Innocence but it's got a good guitar solo. Can't really tell just how good these songs will be until the album comes out though.

I kind of understand why people don't want just standard Symphony X. I'm not one to want a band to alter their sound all the time just for the sake of being different - if what they do is good then I'm happy for them to keep doing it. I don't want to feel like they're repeating themselves though, there has to be something new to make the new album compare to the old ones.

On the other hand, I'd be happy if all the songs were sounding like Accolade, Odyssey, Paradise Lost or Revelation, even though those are pretty standard Symphony X.

The entire solo section was eargasmic. You hear some Floyd influence there too, in the latter part of the solo.

Just amazing.

Great song, and a cool solo section. Russell Allen is a beast! These guys seriously need to do a live DVD.

The bridge and solo section were great. The rest of the song just felt 'good' to me but it's hard to tell, really. The quality and balance of this video isn't as good as the other one. Still, it's definitely got me excited for the new album!

They recorded material for a DVD last year. If they stick to their regular release schedule it should be out sometime around 2016.

Nah, I was thinking more like 2025.

That would give them enough time to find someone to edit the footage. They'd also need to find some dvd boxes, which could take a few more years.

As awesome as that would be, I feel like a month and a half is too short a time from now. They'll want to promote it and such.

Dehumanized.

It kind of reminds me a bit of the heavier songs from V, like "Fallen" and "Absence of Light", with a middle section like something from Twilight's "Through the Looking Glass".  I wish the sound quality was better because it sounds like Pinnela has some fucking sick keyboard parts in this song.  Grrr.  Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait for the album.

Heh, I remember someone a while back saying "Can't Twilight and V have sex so we can record the baby?" or something along those lines, which I totally agree with since those are my fav two SX albums.  Since both "End of Innocence" and "Dehumanized" clearly have influences from both of those albums, I am on the verge of having some sort of mental/emotional/spiritual breakdown from the anticipation of pure awesomeness.

Thank you, Symphony X, for reminding me why I placed you in the same league as Dream Theater, Queensryche and Savatage in the first place!!!  :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal

Also, in one of the Dehumanized videos, Russell says that the album should be out in June...

Why can't any news come from the label?

I'm not into SymX anymore, but in this song (End of Innocence) I can hear more of the stuff that I used to like about them. Melodic choruses, a bit of harmony vox, cheesy keys, proggy stuff, Russell actually singing. This is awesome stuff, I'm really gonna try to get into that new album. It's been a while since I've tried to like a power/prog metal album.

That solo was tight! Weird, MJR's solos on Paradise Lost didn't do a thing for me. And awesome, he's using ENGL amps nowadays? I knew something was up, couldn't hear the MIDI sound he used to have. This is way better.

Edit: Wow the solo in Dehumanized is just great. Good balance between emotion and shredding/flashiness. Sounds like he's more confident about his licks, so he plays less of them, but with more feel. Big thumbs up to MJR!
