I'm not going to tell you you're wrong, I am however going to say in a thread when someone asks for an album recommendation from a band they're thinking of getting into you should generally try suggesting an album that is held to be good by the general fan base. I'm not saying to disregard your own opinion, but you should probably mention your favorite of the albums that are generally held to be the band's best, which would be anything from Divine to Odyssey.

In short, although you might find Damnation to be their best, judging by the fan base at large he has a much greater chance of enjoying one of the other albums I mentioned.

Edit: For example, Scarsick is my favorite Pain of Salvation album, but I know it's disliked by a large part of the PoS fan base, so if I were to give a serious recommendation I'd go with either Remedy Lane or The Perfect Element.

I recommended it second, in case you forgot :P

It has a lot of more progressive elements that a fan of Dream Theater would be drawn to though. At least that's how I see it

Plus, The Edge of Forever. Come on

Thank you for your input folks. But after looking up the CDs on wiki I have decided to go with The Odyssey. A 24 minute song inspired by the story The Odyssey is too tempting for me.

Great choice, The Odyssey is awesome. (the song and the album)  :)

I think we've gotten the update process all sorted out between the band & me & management & the label (new label = new way of doing things, hence the delay since my last update). Called MJR today & am waiting for him to return my call so I can get an update written up.. hoping to have some news up here & on the band's sites by the end of the week at the latest. :D

Pretty good? DAMN GOOD! :metal :metal

In the future, I'll go and watch a sunrise in a beach while listening to On the Breath of Poseidon. That would blow my mind greatly.

 :|

Which part in Pharaoh? BTW that track is probably my favorite off the divine wings.

My rank on Divine Wings.

9. Candlelight Fantasia(Accolade is much better IMO)
8. Sea of Lies(Bit overplayed)
7. The Witching Hour
6. Out of the Ashes
5. Of Sins and Shadows
4. The Accolade
3. Pharaoh
2. The Eyes of Medusa
1. The Divine Wings of Tragedy

In short, The Eyes of Medusa is  :metal :metal :metal

I don't need to say anything about the title track anyway.

It's after the halfway mark, it must be an instrumental section.

The Witching Hour has one of the most epic chorus ever! How can you put it at the bottom? Besides, the main riff is sick as hell. I just don't really like the masquerade-ish intro.

I'm just sick of Sea of Lies. Though it's a good song, it doesn't last as long as other songs.
