PROG METAL GOODNESS MAYBE [parama makes music]
« on: August 31, 2011, 02:26:50 PM »
so I make music.
I have tiered them into:
songs you don't want to listen to
songs you might want to listen to
songs you are going to listen to
also they are GP6 RSE songs so they're kinda don't sound that good but they are cool songs I think

songs you don't want to listen to
Driftwood (post-rock)
Black Clouds on the Horizon (post-rock)
Requiem For The Living (post-rock/classical)
Ashes in the Wind (classical)

songs you might want to listen to
Illuminate (acoustic)
Dystopia (post-rock)
A Song For The Sun (post-rock)
Ethereality (post-rock)
Awaken, Ascend (progressive metal)
Reminiscence Of A Future Long Since Forgotten (post-rock)

songs you are going to listen to
Astral (mathcore-ish)
World Stained White (post-rock/post-metal)
The Roads Best Left Unwalked (progressive metal)
Absolute Zero (post-rock)
Pandemic Idyllic (mathcore)
Mirth and Madness (progressive metal/mathcore)

all of this was written entirely by me.

I've only listened to some tracks from the "songs you are going to listen to" list, but what I hear so far is pretty good. 'World Stained White' and 'The Roads Best Left Unwalked' stand out particularly. If you were to write vocal melodies and lyrics and get a band together, this stuff would sound great. I work with GP6 too so I know it doesn't sound that great.

Yeah, those are two of my best, I agree.

Hmm, what more have I done since I last updated this?...
Malleable Machinery (progressive metal)
Visionary (progressive metal, huge blatant tool influence)

Indeed, these ones are good.

Antietam is nice too, I like long songs.

Now tell me how to make them better!
Besides actual recordings which would obviously make them all better.

Well there is of course that. Other than that I don't know. Maybe vocals which I know can't be put into a song using GP6, but that's probably what would take your music to the next level (and mine too...)

That works too, the vocal thing is of course if you've got vocals to put in and if not, it's fine as it is. Then the only thing is actual recordings as mentioned earlier.
