Who would you consider the old kings of comedy? Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, Woody Allen (he did stand up a bit right?) and stuff like that?

Well the retired or non-active types (such as those you posted) and maybe lesser known.

(edit i know Allen is not retired, but hes been active for eons, so hes good).... you get the idea...

I think the 90s is his prime though, he had been in the business for 30 or so years, and he came to the point where he just couldn't take BS anymore and let it all out epically. He knew how to structure himself with both argumentative and persuasive styles as well as legendary comedy bits.

In what can only be described as the most epic semester of my undergrad years, I saw Bill Cosby and George Carlin within a month of each other.

These are awesome. The Larry Miller drinking bit is gold (gold, Jerry.... gold!) And Richard Jeni was always great.

And I forgot that Wolfberg guy was a comedian. I'll always think of him as the guy from Quantum Leap.

Going to see Jerry Seinfeld on October 01. Wouldn't normally spend big money for a comedy show, but it was a gift for my parents (and myself and wife) and Jerry is one of the few I would shell out for.
