I like this line from the Billboard news release......

Rush's new labelmates include fellow prog rockers Dream Theater, metal heavies Megadeth and the indie rock band of the moment, Young the Giant, among others.

I'm surprised that Blabbermouth hasn't run a story on this yet. Very odd.

Interesting.  Considering RR is about the only record company these days whose head isn't completely up their ass, this can only be a good thing.  I have no doubt that they will treat Rush well! :tup :tup

Yeah, you're probably right. But considering Blabbermouth is a Roadrunner site, I figured they would post a story as soon as the info became available. Maybe they're waiting for a peak time when the most visitors are on the site.

Exactly.  They are about the only label left that does historically what labels used to do --- their job.

It's sad in a way, but there weren't many options left.

Rush is probably one of the bigger touring acts out there today.

Yeah, they might not pack in 15 to 20K every night anymore, but they still do pretty damn well, and their tours always gross a shit ton of money.

I suspect that most bands that are as big or bigger than Rush, and that can regularly draw the same number of fans to the shows, charge roughly the same amount (or higher) for tickets.

Factor in the fact that Rush often does 2 sets worth of show, and it's money very well-spent.

Plus, it's Rush, and all.

I can only speak for the PNC arts center here in NJ , but Rush tickets are on average about 50% more than other shows at the same venue....there maybe one or two other shows there that might come close to what Rush tickets go for, but most are much, much, much cheaper

Roadrunner and Rush in the same sentence. That's weird. I thought Roadrunner is a metal/hard rock label.

Now Progressive Nation feat. DT, Rush, Porcupine Tree and Opeth !!!

What do you think the order would be for that?

Rush
DT
PT
Opeth

Rush would have to be the headliner. The other three could rotate spots 2,3, and 4 on a nightly basis kinda like when DT and Joe Satriani toured to gether several years ago.

Of course Rush is a headliner. There are no contest.
Do you even whahíbrido pickingant?

Also, I wonder how RR will handle the release of Clockwork Angels? I predict 4 editions of the album at release:
-1 CD Standard album, no-frills packaging
-2 disc, album and making-of DVD in digipak
-2 LP vinyl in magnificent gate-fold with 180 gram vinyl
-Deluxe packaging containing 2 discs and 2 vinyl as above, in a giant box-set with a lithograph, Time Machine Tour backstage pass replica, and a couple post-cards with various Rush photos past and present

I will pay many federal reserve notes to see the prog 4 lineup that has been mentioned.

Literally my 4 fav bands.

It is interesting to watch roadrunner turn from strict metal to include more prog rock stuff in their roster....

Interesting, yes, but unsurprising. Progressive music is beginning to gain popularity. They're likely seeing dollar signs.

I absolutely HATED the deluxe edition of Black Clouds. Worst packaging i've ever seen.
Yeah, it's pretty crappy.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Yeah, it's pretty crappy.

Tri-fold Digipak would've been really nice.
