The default theme is the best by far. It's the only one that doesn't make my eyes bleed profusely.

I use the SMF default theme. Light background with a friendly blue. :tup
The black background literally makes my eyes water within a couple of minutes. I can't stand websites with dark backgrounds and light text for more than a paragraph or two. I always have to change the browser settings to force it to black text on white background.

black is the only one that works on IE 7 with java and everything else fun disabled by admins. I can see maybe a third of the photos posted

I have to admit, I looked at the other themes, but I concluded the default theme looked the most eye-friendly. I really am a subterrainian creature.

Eh, not so much. I wasn't aware of prog metal album art being primarily dark-themed. If we were talking black metal then definitely.

It certainly wasn't the default one, but it may have been the one you used then as well. Nothing wrong with light themes, naturally, we have a few of them. But the SMF core theme is just so basic and bland. :lol

I've always used the light blue theme.  Far less intrusive to my eye holes.
