Not bad - feels like it might be a Beyond This Life kinda track.

this my fellow fan is an understatement  :P
this sounds like a riff madness!

I really wasn't digging the first half but once the riff kicked in at :38 it changed my opinion.

same for me. sounded too like A7X for my liking.

Uhm... I really want to see A7X pull off the technicality of ANY section of this song, let alone album.

Uhm...I'm no super fan of theirs but you might want to give the A7X guys a little more credit than that.

Love the music.  But I'm confused by the artwork of the knight on a horse.  Doesn't seem to fit with the other artwork.

where did the clown go? is he burried in the sand? :-)

labrie has sounded the same since falling into infinity; old and tired.

As has been pointed out to you by other users, this kind of post violates Rule 12 of the forum.  I suggest you read the rules before posting any further (especially since SEVERAL of your 10 posts on this forum violate the rule).  This is not the place for insulting James LaBrie (or any other current or former member of DT).

i apologize. it was not my intent to insult him.

Understood.  And I know it can be a fine line between offering constructive criticism or constructively explaining a dislike, on one hand, versus being insulting, on the other hand.  Just try to remember that, even though the Internet in general can be a very loose environment, this is a site meant to support the band, so it is useful to use some tact sometimes.

SO POWERFAL, TECHNICAL!! So energy! POWA!! SO HEAVY SOUND!!!

From what I've heard, this is not even the heaviest song in the album and there are moments that are far more progressive from anything we've heard so far.

Why is nobody posting?  The reactions are so fun to read.  Couple more thoughts:

 - Love the power of Myung in this track.  The bass is doubling the drums during the super heavy chorus, which makes the overall effect so much more of a rush.  Then there's the stupdendously smooth bass groove as the end of the snippet.

 - Rudess goes subtle here.  But I don't hear a pig sound doubling the guitar, so it's all okay.

 - I don't care if I'm the only person who thinks this, but I'm always happy when DT goes djent.

 - I think it's interesting how, as a guitar player, Petrucci seems to have really sublimated himself on this album.  Even as he's riffing at full force during the chorus, JLB's vocals are up front.  I'm sure when we hear the album the solos will all be heavily featured moments, but JP is stil way less prominent on this album (so far) than he's been in a while.

 - JLB rules again on this track.

That bit with the staccato guitars... that's the second clip that's put me in mind of Fatal Tragedy. Put that cool keyboard thing Rudess did over it on top and it'd be a dead ringer. Really shows they're going back to being influenced by themselves. Awesome.

Also, I reckon the unicyclist is just outside of the frame. Him the the camel guy are about to have a joust. ;)

As much as I love the teasers and how addicting they are, especially this one, I gotta stop listening to them before I ruin the album for myself.

And as always, they put in half a second of a different structure riiight at the end so you can hear that it's different, but you can't hear what it is. Daym.

Sounds very promising overall.

This snippet gets me really excited. It does what the two previous ones have failed to do.

It's going to be a kickass record for sure.

I mentioned Mangini's drumming!!!!

But yeah, he rocked on this track.  He got a lot of little nuances there will still being able to bang the crap out of his kit when necessary.  I love hearing stuff like the very last fill in the snippet.  The only weird part is the last 4th of the djent riff.

Melted.
—No, continued Aunt Kate, she wouldn't be said or led by anyone, slaving there in that choir night and day, night and day. Six o'clock on Christmas morning! And all for what?
—Well, isn't it for the honour of God, Aunt Kate? asked Mary Jane, twisting round on the piano-stool and smiling.
Aunt Kate turned fiercely on her niece and said:
—I know all about the honour of God, Mary Jane

Also, that MM fill near the end of the clip!!!! NICE! :hefdaddy

Mangini did an amazing job with the drums.

This is really surprising, actually. I especially dig JLB's work and MM's final fill.

i find the sound of the drums so fresh! very live. you almost see him hitting the octoban!
best snippet IMO.....gonna listen to it a couple of of more times.

That was sick.  My favorite snippet in terms of Mangini's playing too.

Yeah, he's definitely more subtle on this track, which is interesting because he's VERY prominent on the others.

Keyboards' a bit low, would have been more epic with those chords more dominant, but this was a great clip, really liking what we have heard so far on this one. I'm so excited, I might poo.

Feared and respected
Living among the gods
Leading the Empire, spirit as black as coal
Lost not forgotten
King of the deathless soul

The Dark Eternal Night part 2, folks. I think these are the lyrics.
 with my edits

I also sort of winced at the AX7 feel in the chorus, but dig the lyrics and prog.  This is a track that will take some time for me to absrob, but will ultimately enjoy the tune.
