New singles coming each month, starting with "Sugarlife" on April 3rd.

https://theband3.com/

NEW  SINGLE SUGARLIFE COMING 4/3/14!
A BRAND NEW SINGLE ON THE 3RD OF EVERY MONTH!

This sounds like a cool way to release new music. Imogen Heap and Falling Up sort of have done this approach in recent years, among others I'm sure.

They did put up a new t-shirt the other day on their store which I imagine will help release their next full-length, but until then, these new singles should tide many of us Three fans over.

I have to say, I don't like this method of releasing music at all. I guess it's mostly because I still listen to albums and mostly in the car on CDs. Makes it hard for me listen to a single song. My hope is that they release all of these songs as an album once they get done releasing one a month.

"You Are the Alien" is now available, being May 3RD at 3PM, ;) https://theband3.com/

Nate, I believe that is the hope/plan. And I follow your way of thinking for the most part. Delivering all the songs at once, instead of this way.

Falling Up did this a few years ago, and by the time their 2 records were released, I kind of forgot about it because I didn't keep up with each song, each month, etc.

Why I guess I am listening to these songs a few times, and likely won't relisten to them again for awhile (not to wear them out, and in the interest to hear them within the record).

But then again, if a song comes out that is just so amazing, I may not be able to help it but become addicted.

3 are one of those bands that always sounds better live than they do in the studio, in my opinion. Their studio recordings just don't have the same energy. So I love that they're throwing a live track out there for us.

"It's Alive" live, lol.

https://3band.bandcamp.com/track/its-alive-live

So back in 1963 as The Beatles went to record "Twist and Shout", one of their most famous songs...John Lennon had a cold that day, but they recorded all day anyway but saved that song til the end of the session so he could really blow out his voice! That's kinda what happened for us at this show, Joey's voice sounds good and raw. And since we always get requests to play this one live, here it is!

latest news from Joey Eppard ...

""3" & Joey Eppard Newsletter Feb.20.15

Hello All...

Joey Eppard here. Remember me?  Many of you know my family and I have gone through some rough times in the last two years. I'll spare you all the "gory details," but my wife's battle with Breast Cancer, though difficult, has been successful thus far. She finished Chemo nearly a month ago and continues to get better everyday. You can read Melissa's blog at: www.melissashealinghope.com

We are extremely grateful for all the support that has come our way, we couldn't have made it to this point without you!

"3" has been off the road for a while now, and our writing and recording had to be put on hold for a time. Well now we're ready to kick things into gear again. First off, "3" has just released a brand new song called "Crazy Eyes" on band camp.  You can check it out and support at: https://3band.bandcamp.com

I have also just released the audio from Joey Eppard Live In Concert as a 29 song album on band camp. Check it out, share and support here: https://joeyeppard.bandcamp.com

In other news, I will be performing a very special show at Daryl's House in Pawling, NY on Thursday, February 26th at 8pm. Daryl's House is not only an amazing club with excellent sound and killer food, but also a TV show with millions of viewers hosted be Daryl Hall himself! A good showing on the 26th will go a long way towards getting me on the TV show for next season. Lets face it, we're long overdue to take our career to the next level and this could really be the jolt we need. Joining me will be The Gartdrumm, Billy Riker and Lenny Lee.  You can get tickets at: https://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=5603765&pl=daryl

Plans this year: First off, finally going to finish the long awaited follow up to "been to the future," an album tentatively called "Word to the Wise." The songs are all pretty close, and you need to hear it! Secondly I will be making a brand new folk-soul record with Bobby "Chicken" Burke (producer of "Summercamp Nightmare"), and all the while "3" will be writing for a new record we'll be recording in the fall.  We're also considering offering a monthly subscription service that would allow downloading and streaming access to all things "3" and Joey Eppard. The subscription would include a ton of exclusive content from the early days of "3" to entire unreleased albums! There are so many songs you've never heard and I've nearly forgotten! Let me know your thoughts on this!

Now is the time that I must rise to the occasion and prove once and for all that I can make a living through music. Anything you can do to help support my cause, from sharing and spreading the word to purchasing new music and other merch is greatly appreciated and directly supports my artistry. Its definitely a snowball effect, the more it grows, the more time and energy I can devote to it. Its what I was born to do.Thank you for all your love, your backing and for joining me on this wild and crazy journey.

best to you and yours,
           - Joey

Any updates from these guys? Talk about a band who should be much bigger than they are. Can't believe it's 6 years since their last release and 10 since The End is Begun. Would love another album.

So no new update on the solo effort or 3 in almost a year, I'm assuming this band is dead. If that is the case it's a shame. Their last two albums were amazing and I'm really surprised they never caught on.

Yeah, they were awesome, I saw them live once and they were great. I love their two last albums aswell.  It is such a shame the band is dead/unactive, such a waste.

I don't know if you can call them "dead" I mean Joey still plays live and he's dealt with a lot the last few years, with his wife's cancer treatment.

I just think they are taking their time and maybe on a hiatus.

I mean just compare a band like dredg.

People assumed they broke up for many years, but did they? no...they just aren't doing dredg activities full-time. And now in 2018 they are writing and going to record a new album.

I think the Q&A Joey did on FB addresses a lot of the current state of 3 and his solo career.

Great band!  Saw them in Seattle on the progressive nation tour 2008, I was very impressed. Met them after their set out at the merch section and they gave me a demo cd, really nice guys. I soon bought TEIB album and really dig it to this day.

not Three, and not about his solo record, but Joey did and is doing again a complete live performance of The Beatles White Album?'

I would love to see this if I only lived in NY.

Joey was on the Rick Z podcast recently talking about his history and he talked about the solo album he's working on. He has written some 40 or 50 songs at this point, but he's still taking his time.

Understandably, given the stuff he is going through. I knew about his wife's cancer, but his mom has Alzheimer's and his son is on the Autism spectrum, which I didn't know either of those things.

I can totally follow why he's been less productive with his music the last few years.

I really need to pick this up.  These guys don't get enough love.  I was lukewarm on TEHB, but Wake Pig and Ghosts were both fantastic.     I've heard a bit of their older material online, and it's really cool as well.

you should listen to Paint by Number and the live album "Half Life" for sure. PBN has some of the catchiest songs in their history , such as with "Wrongside" for example

sad news, former bassist Joe Cuchelo has died.

We are saddened to hear that our friend, former "3" bassist, Joe "Cooch" Cuchelo has passed away today. Our hearts go out to his wife Erin, and their 3 daughters.
Cooch sounded like no other. Whether watching him from the audience or sharing a stage, he was one of the few musicians who could really surprise you with his brilliance. He'd play licks you'd never see coming, leaving you with your jaw agape and wondering how what you just heard was even possible. Sometimes you just had to laugh out loud at the sheer absurdity of his genius. He was unpredictable and unforgettable. We are truly thankful for his contributions to "3' and for all the amazing times we shared. Though his voice is now silent, his bass lines continue to speak volumes.
Cooch played bass on three "3" albums: "Half Life," "Summercamp Nightmare" and "Wake Pig." He was also the bassist for the legendary group "Peacebomb." He will be missed.
We love you Cooch, say hey to Jay.

Joey was on the Neverender Cruise (Coheed's), and Claudio and Josh joined Joey on stage.

1st time Claudio and Joey ever played together (I guess).

Mad bump

I was on the cruise and had to miss the joey/josh/claudio because we were in line waiting for our photo with the band.... which was stalled because the band was obviously busy. I hate how they scheduled that! I would have loved to seen them play. We did catch Joey two other times and he blew our minds. Got to chat with him a little on the last night too, seemed like a cool dude.

Joey is a massive talent and it really too bad that 3 stalled after their stellar Ghost You Gave to Me album.
