I felt it about ten minutes down the road from Nick.  Except I was just waking up and for the first half of it I thought it was a dream.  Then I was like, no...shit's shaking for real.

That was a very disorienting way to wake up.

I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at a YouTube video in my life.

I posted this on facebook so I may as well post it here.

Felt it in my office in Manhattan.  Thought I was going nuts because no one else seemed to react.  Figured maybe I had somehow gotten dizzy.  Very strange feeling.

Here in NJ, our whole building shook.  We evacuated for about 5 minutes just until we could figure out what the f*ck happened.  AT&T cell service was out for at least 30 minutes.  I finally got a hold of my wife at home who said our china cabinet shook but nothing fell or broke.  I have friends in PA, MA and NC that all felt it.  Crazy sh*t!

A friend of mine posted this pic in facebook, titled "earthquake devastation in NY"...

What can I say, us Cali people are enjoying being on the other side of the shaking for once.

It was by no means a devestating earthquake, but seeing as we simply don't experience them here, it's a very new thing for almost everyone here.

And that photo made the rounds last summer when a 3.6 Earthquake hit DC.

I was in the mall eating lunch. Didn't really feel much of anything, and I live about an hour away from the epicenter of the quake here in Virginia. Very interesting though, especially since the fault line hasn't been the most active fault line in history.

How true. Makes me think since Colorado and now Virginia both have pretty sizeable quakes if something big in New Madrid's fault system isn't on the horizon soon. It's pretty much right between these two relatively rare events.

I guess with it being an otherwise slow news day it isn't all that surprising that the media would be all over this but what's annoying is how melodramatic most of the national networks(CBS and CNN I can safely say) have been with their coverage. It accounted for at least half of CBS' evening news and seemed to be on CNN for almost the whole afternoon. All I heard was countless stories that went something like "...and then it started shaking for [15-60] seconds and I was soooo surprised." I'm very thankful and relieved that this wasn't any worse but I just wish if they were gonna over-cover it to the extent they have that they could at least be bothered to find a way to not be so incredibly redundant and perhaps give some original insight on it.

I live about 50 miles north of the epicenter. It shook our house pretty good for about 30 secs or so. My 16 month old son certainly wondered what the hell was going on - it shook during snack time.

Things were certainly rattling around on shelves and the house shimmied pretty good. Kinda glad I got to experience it. The neighbor was mowing the lawn at the time and didn't feel a thing.

I was eating lunch with a friend in Delaware. The booth we were in started shaking/ rocking back and forth and the lights above us started swinging back and forth. The whole thing was about 10 to 15 seconds. Its was so strange and neither of us had a clue that it was an earthquake 100's of miles away, until the waiter broke the news. Pretty wild I must say.

It didn't seem like a really big deal to me tbh, my house shook for about 15 seconds and then it was all good (nothing even fell down). I live near Baltimore though so the impact was probably diluted. No one got hurt or anything (or no property was damaged) in this, right?

:rollin  I always tell people "My grandparents live in Newton Falls, home of zip code 44444". I love the big billboard they have, if its still there.

I called her to find out if she felt it. She was in town getting her hair cut so she didn't. But when she got home, my gpa told her he was on the toilet and it started shaking. I then asked if he got splashed  :lol he didn't

I was on the second floor in NY at the time.  It was kind of funny, actually, because I rolled back about four inches and then rolled forward again.  It kept shaking, though, so, I went downstairs.  It had already ended by the time that I had gotten down there, though.  I was wondering why there were quakes all the way up here.

It was funny reading about it on CNN, and about how Obama was playing golf in MA at the time.  I keep imagining the ball rolling out of the way just as he's about to hit it, and nothing else being noticeable about the quake up there.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
