Seconded. Excellent album, and definitely under-rated.

Seriously I have no clue. I have been a registered poster since 08' so not sure what if anything has changed between now and then.

Keep up the cool albums! :tup

16. Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

My favorite Genesis album. Peter Gabriel's lyrics and storytelling on this album are pretty much unmatched. Also, the keyboard arrangements on this album were pretty flawless, seeing as Tony Banks really can't do any wrong. To top it off, Steve Hackett's guitar tone was at its darkest and crunchiest, which makes this album sound extremely dark and foreboding.

Favorite Songs: "Carpet Crawlers", "Counting Out Time", "Hairless Heart", "In The Cage", "Anyway", "Riding The Scree"

15. Radiohead - Kid A

I love every Radiohead album (within reason *coughPabloHoneycough*) but I love Kid A most of all. it was a huge grower album, taking an extremely long time for me to dig it, but once it really clicked with me it immediately became my favorite album of theres. Not a single weak song on the album, and everytime I hear it I am brought back to the first time it was shown to me at a summer camp a long time ago.

Favorite Songs: "How To Disappear Completely", "Idioteque", "Everything In Its Right Place", "The National Anthem"

ReaperKK

I'm still trying to get into Radiohead, I haven't heard the Genesis album.

The Lamb is a great album (not my personal favourite but still), nice choice :tup

Ryzee

Quad, I have to say that yours has been the top 50 albums list that I've been able to relate to the most.  It seems like we have very similar tastes in music.  Wanna like, go get a pizza or something?

ZBomber

I actually got pizza with Quad before, and it is as good of a time as you think it is.

zxlkho

I have gotten pizza with Quad as well and it definitely lives up to the hype.

Ryzee

Oh man, now I'm so excite but also kind of nervous!  Do you think he'll respond?  Like, when should I follow up again if I don't hear from him?  I think I'll go post in the LHC thread while I wait...

antigoon

I got Chipotle with him once. It fucking sucked. He didn't even pay for me.

glaurung

It's because he didn't think you'd put out. Did you?

I don't get pizza with people unless they have over 1,000 posts.

.. or they smoke weed with me

I've got some really good friends in NY. Next time I'm visiting them we should get some za.

zxlkho

I'll meet up with you guys and we can go bowling. :hat

Ryzee

:lol  I was just joking w/ the whole pizza thing, but it seems like you guys are making a love connection so I'm glad I could help!  Have fun!- Quad your list is cool so far.  IKS is better than SSTB.

PuffyPat

If this actually is going to happen, the soonest I might be in NY is October 23. I might be going to a record release show for my friends band in Brooklyn.

Quadrochosis

Don't take it personally, he just wants to make sure you won't rape him, or at least that you'll do it gently.

14. Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans

one of the most grandiose, epic prog albums to ever be created (or rather dreamt up). this album has an extremely divided fan opinion, but i am clearly in the camp that thinks it is great. the entire album totally sounds like the cover looks, which is always something i loved about it.  a year ago (or even up to a few months ago), i was still considering this a top 5 album, but after reevaluating my music tastes, Tales has definitely fallen a bit. but 14 is not a bad spot at all.

Favorite Movements: "Ritual", "The Revealing Science of God"

13. Brand New - Daisy

Daisy is one of the more overlooked albums that has come out in recent years. it is extremely consistent, almost every song has a dark, heavy, brooding vibe to it. the sound processing, recording, layering, mixing also results in some of the most lively, present sounding guitar i have ever heard. the condensing of the bands sound into what came to be on this album showed that sometimes taking one idea and running with it can work extremely well.  production is also at top notch here, and one of the more memorable things about Daisy is the peculiar clips that bookend the album.

Favorite Songs: "Noro", "Daisy", "In A Jar", "Sink", "You Stole", "At The Bottom"
