Possible broken HDMI cable
« on: August 22, 2011, 04:25:13 AM »
About an hour ago I was watching Curb from my computer on the tv, having my laptop connected by a HDMI cable. Then I wanted to watch something on my PS3, so I took the cord out of the laptop and back into the PS3. It said there was 'no signal' but it still said there was something connected to that HDMI channel, but the screen remained blank. So I put the cord back in the laptop to see if that worked, and same result. There was no signal. Does this sound like I've damaged the cord? There is no visual damage that I can see.

An update. I tried both my PS3 and laptop on the tv in the family room using the same HDMI cable and they both worked fine. Therefore, it must be my tv. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Yeah the cable is fine. This happens to me often, the TV just gets weird sometimes when you disconnect the HDMI cable from a device and put it into another real fast.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

Turn the television on and off.
